In the Islam, the shiites, practise contract marriage.Which means the man enters into a contract to marry a woman for a fixed period of time , maybe six months . After that , the man is free to enter in a contract marriage with another woman. There is no limit on the number of times you enter into such a contract marriage . The prophet muhammed permitted this on the reasoning that it will prevent fornification. But as i see it , the contract marriage allows man to enjoy fornication to his hearts desire.

The shi'tes or Shias discourage this but do not prohibit. What happens to these women after the contract marriage. I have been to Indonesia and i have seen many men from the middle east who go there specifically to enter a into contract marriage of about 1-2 monthswith the indonesian women (they are from poor families). After having had their fun, they return back to their countries . To me it sounds that this specific group of muslims indulge in sex tours under the disguise of religion. What happened to the rights of these women?

Islam permits that, it was permitted in the times of the prophet Muhammad.

"Mutah (temporary marriages) was allowed during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and hehimself practiced it. Ibn Zubayr was born out of the temporary marriage. Later on Caliph Umar prohibited it due to social reasons as the Islamic world was rapidly expanding. Shias discourage mutah but do not consider it prohibited. Some do abuse this. As a temporary privilege during travel, it is better than adulter "

The law finishes with Muhammad and whoever change the law is blaspheming the religion of Islam.

Hazrat Umar, the second caliphate after the death of Muhammad, whom sunni love a lot, changed that law, forbid contract marriages and even add one verse in the morning prayer azaan.
