try to sleep earlier at night. Like finish your meals by 8 and tryin sleep by 9. complete 8 hours of sleep definitely. then you can get up by 5 in the morning and feel fresh. If you have trouble sleeping, maintain a conducive environment, turn out the lights completely, make a comfortable bed, avoid sleeping during the day, and don't think when you re in bed (a stressed mind gets no sleep). Remember, sleep has more to do with peace of mind than physical strain. If nothing helps, try some meditation and deep breathing excercises.

all the best 4 your exams!

Go to bed by about 11pm. Get up at about 6am. Drink half a litre of water. Meditate/Concentrate for 10 minutes. Finish your morning duties(attend nature's call etc.) Walk briskly for 35-40 mins. Come back and have a lukewarm bath. A glass of milk, a slice or two of whole wheat bread and an apple for breakfast should do the trick.

Taking hot showers in the morning are proven to wake you up and make you feel energised. It has something to do with how the hot water bonds with the ions in the air. It naturally wakes you up. You should feel energised after this. But you will feel lazy wanting to get in the shower right away. But as soon as you are done, you will feel a lot better.

Edit: The answer that said exercise is also correct. Morning times is actually statistically the best time to exercise. If you take a shower, exercise, then take another shower, you should feel as if it is 2 in the afternoon.

Ur body is telling u to give it more rest! U've been given some great techniques. But since studying for finals is stressful in itself, you really need to make sure your eating a balanced diet and drinking water. Some exercises to help reduce the stress is essential. It will balance the brain activity. Should make u comfortable to take a warm shower and head to bed for some sleep.

U could start trying to take a nap after your classes if your schedule permits. I was amazed at the largest public university that over 1/2 of the students living on campus take naps during the day. To re-energize their systems and to go the distance with their afternoon/night studying, working and socializing schedules. But I really think ur body is saying "I need sleep. Take care of me!"

Drink a large glass of cold water as soon as you wake up.
Drink a strong cup of tea or coffee and a healthy breakfast will get you started.

Try going to bed a half hour early every night until you are in the habit, and at the same time, get two hours earlier, and do half hour of vigourous exercise in the morning.

I learned this in the Army. It works.

Eat light food in the morning e.g two slices of bread and coffee. Don't read for more than one hour at a time.
