My husband and I are expecting our first child, a girl, on Christmas Eve and so he is working lots and lots of hours to help pay for her. How do we find time to reconnect as a married couple and what are some good ideas?

Start to pay attention to the little things that we take for granted. Leave little notes to each other, and set aside time just for the two of you and stick to it. Let each other know that you appreciate each other. Say I love you often,be supportive of each other.

Have a "spa night" at home. Run a bath, light candles, and play relaxing music (classical guitar or instrumentals). Turn off the phone and the TV. You might need to "lure" or "trick" him into the bath. Take turns scrubbing each other's backs. Then take it to the bedroom and just lay on the bed, listening to the music and enjoying the candles, and what happens next, well...

My wife did this for me and it was better than any spa.

Find time to talk and to laugh. Maybe take a getaway weekend to a nearby bed and breakfast -they are quaint, quiet and romantic. Or just cook together and enjoy each other's company whenever you can. Best wishes...

You definitely have to find the time to talk. If he is in the shower, be in the room too and talk to him. When you get into bed, take the time to talk and touch each other. It doesn't have to be sexual. Even if you are just sitting watching TV, touch each other.
