If so, what do you then do with the powers of rationality and reason that set men apart from the other animals.

religious faith is the antithesis of rationality and reason, it is believing in something without any proof whatsoever and if that were a valid tool of knowledge anything could be believed through faith but nothing would be true.

I didn't include women as they are not considered of much importance in the Bible being merely the chattels of the men.

Oh come off it! God constantly does issues by potential of three, such through fact the presentation of His nature to mankind. maximum Christians worship a trinity, 3 persons; constantly claiming, with the super theologians, that a million + a million + a million = a million ? certainly a secret! i certainly replaced into waiting to appreciate this secret at one time; yet now believe the heresy that a million + a million + a million = 3. God, the eternal spirit, supplies Himself as Spirit, as Father and since the Son; Son of guy and Son of God. whilst God supplies Himself with many names, to show His majesty, He keeps to be One and basically one. In a feeling thou dost err with trinity Christians. They see an previous guy on a heavenly throne; a youthful guy seated at his precise hand and a dove flying circles above their heads. and that they shop attempting to squeeze mom Mary into the photograph. this could be a pagan photograph. you have a will, a techniques and emotions which present you. this does not make you a trinity. You omit the fake theory of many Christians and the Scripture; hear O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. Deut. 6:4. Father, Son and Holy Ghost are titles, no longer names. Behold a million John 5:7 and John a million:a million collectively and seem at. it somewhat is not a easy remember in a international the place our determination is existence or demise.

Your claim that "religious faith is the antithesis of rationality and reason, it is believing in something without any proof whatsoever" is a demonstration of your ignorance.
Just because the proofs for the Bible and faith in it seem unsatisfactory to you doesn't mean that there are not many proofs. There is a far larger body of evidence to support the Bible than there is to support the tenuous theory that time plus random mutations plus natural selection turned a frog like creature into a "Prince".
What a laugh that theory is. Let's see, here's how it goes. Inorganic matter just "came alive" and then it organized itself into complex living beings who were magically transformed into complex animals ranging from the caterpillar/butterfly to the humming bird to the kangaroo to human beings who have flown to the moon and back and it was all just a big accident.
And matter just came into being from "nothing". The universe came from nothing and people are just one of those amazing coincidences and we are all spiraling along down the corridor of eternity with no reason for our existence other than the spinning of a giant cosmic roulette wheel.
Dressing up that belief with long pages of theories and high sounding rhetoric and complex mathematical equations supported by old bones dug up in the dirt doesn't negate the fact that it takes a whole lot of faith and a suppression of common sense to believe it.

I disagree with you contention that "anything could be believed through faith but nothing would be true."
Believing something through faith does not preclude the possibility of it's truth.
Just because one does not have factual information to back up an idea does not make it untrue.
I see the bible as part revelation and part wishful thinking . Some of it started out as actual revelation from God, but much of it has been rearranged, misinterpreted and altered because people could not stand the loving message that God's word always conveys.
So they fixed God's word so it more closely agreed with their particular world view.
Sad, but I'm afraid true.
Love and blessings Don

I Believe GOD Almighty Exists.
I cannot Prove GOD to Anyone.
The Bible contains the "Word of GOD" (Jesus, GOD Almighty).
Yes, the KJV is a Translation.
There are some areas where the Wording coulda' been Better.
When you Have the Holy Spirit LIVING inside of you (Spirits can do that), HE will show Teach and Guide you into All Truth (Who Jesus is).
It would be Great to be Able to Read and Understand the Original Greek and Hebrew Text, in their Languages.
But for the Most Part, GOD Upholds the KJV. (or Anything with the "Word of GOD" in it).
P.S. You can't just use FAITH to do Anything you Want to. Faith works by Love (Jesus, GOD) and HE has to O.K. Every Faith Command, or it Ain't agonna Work!
GOD Loves People.
We should too!
Hey, if you could use Faith anyway you Wanted to, All of the Traffic Lights would be in Hell by Now, Wouldn't they! Hahahahaha.
Hope this helps! Ditto.........................

I believe it with all my heart, without one single doubt. As far as the powers of rationality you lack the wisdom or knowledge to even begin to rationalize God.He uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.It hasn't been that long ago that rational men finally found out the earth was round, now they think men came from monkeys.Talk about rational.

Hella no ways! To have faith in something I don't understand is like drinking a brown mixture in the blender that my little brother made for me (No clue what it is so I'll just leave it alone).

The Bible is filled with parables, allegories, and figurative language. In other words it is not meant to be taken literally, but the principles it espouses should be taken as a guide.
