Simplest answer: We are too heavy (or dense) compared to our surroundings. Same reason a cruise ship doesn't fly in the air but fish would see it differently as compared to their surroundings they are relatively light.. Makes you think huh..

We can we need a wind gust of about 39 miles per hour to lift us, with proper cape and little practise we can fly like birds, by the way no one has done it yet.

Hand gliding, and power gliding are the closest thing to flying.

Then there are wind tunnels you can fly like birds in them.

And finally the Astronauts taking the space walk actually are flying. Then there are weightless training aircraft that allow people to fly inside the aircraft for few seconds.

USA Army has few people that can use a back pack rocket engines or jets to stay in air for few minute till the fuel runs out.

If you understand how a air plain fly then you will understand that "why we cant fly".

It is the geometry of the plain, and the propeller or jet engine or rocket engine.

To make plain fly, air under the plain must support the plain, the pressure under the wing of the plain is more then pressure over the wing.

The propeller drives the air over and under the wing, by design air has to travel more distance over the wing then under the wing. If air coming out at pressure P and going over the wing is say 2p, then neglecting other losses P=2p, as the air from prop, touches the front wing tips. Say half travel over and half travels under.

The component that goes over the top of the wing will be at pressure p1, and other component will be p2, by design you will have p1
The same displacement of air sucks the plain forward.

Well,your's question can be answered in two distinct ways. We are humans not birds or planes.I and you cannot fly because we all are unique creatures.We are godgifted with many more things.We can talk,work,express ourselves,but can every creature do that ?But you may surely fly if you really want!You can plan to reach the sky and then you are at your own sky [goal].Scientifically we don't have the hormones to have wings!!!Hence you and al humans cannot fly.

there are many reasons why we can't fly
1. we don't have wings (I think many people have mentioned that before)
2.Our bones are not hollow enough that we can fly
3.we don't have a sharp sight like the birds and we may dash to anything(that is if we fly)
I can't make you fly but if you really want to fly then get into an aeroplane and then you can fly.

An fixed wing aeroplane flies on account of the pressure differential generated by the wings as it moves forward in the air--lift. We need wings to fly like these.
Or you can fly on a rocket with no wings and all thrust.

well who said we can't fly??..yes we can fly but in our dreams..when we see a dream come true we feel so happy that the feeling to fly can be felt..well..there are also some scientific reasons that we cant fly..but science is stupid..its important that what we feel inside rather than see outside.u must have seen birds flying their body is soo light that they can fly..we human beings and especially girls are sooooo weighted that we cant fly.weight of bird is as light as a plastic ball....well my hands are paining now so i cant type more..well bye bye..and REMMEMBER THE ONE WHO SAID THE ANSWER THE GRAVITY OF THE EARTH PULL US IS WRONG BECAUSE IF IT IS RIGHT THEN WHY DONT BIRDS GET PULLED DOWN???:)
