I have a bealge, could you give me a comparison to it? If not familiar a beagle, give me a comparison to any other breeds. Eg, one of the easier breeds to train? More Independent, Doesn't bark or howl much..and so on.
More personal, the better.
Thanks

um lets see...i currently have 3 and am getting another on wendsday, they are high energy dogs, i wouldnt trust them off leash or with an electric fence. one of mine is a climber and would easily scale an 8 foot fence given the chance. they pretty much act like puppies till they're about 3. very inteligent dogs, want to be pleasing. typically they are pretty quiet dogs, although they do kind of howl or yodle some times. they are pretty independant but that doesnt meen they wont appreciate your attention or want to be petted. very inquisitive, if raised with other animals they will get along with them. what else do you want to know?

Well I live with one, hes my room mates dog... he barks, for anything he wants, hes impossible to train, and he still pees in the house, hes standoffish... he nips all the time, and if you reprimand him he gets nasty. Hes not at all cuddly, hes super independent. His bark is almost as annoying as a beagles, hes just a destructive as a beagle can be. To be perfectly honest I have been around one other shiba past puppy stage, and that one just didn't like anyone. So even though I am a HUGE dog lover... (i see a dog and dissolve into a puddle) I don't like this breed, and I would never get one for my own dog. I get up in the morning I have a mess to clean, I come home from a 9 hour work day, I have a mess to clean, I eat dinner, hes doing this bark/howl thing for food...
The dog is really smart, he was tearing up the trash, so we put the trash can up on a counter, he learned how to get up there to get it. He knows when hes been bad, so he hides under the bed where we can't get him and if we reach for him we get bit... hard... I would have no problem getting rid of this animal, but the room mate will not hear of it. My brothers friend also has one, if we go over there the dog growls constantly, and is skittish around people, it won't come around people. Honestly... I just do not like the breed. One evil Shiba I can get over, two.. not a coincidence.

I LOVE my Shiba Inu. Shibas take a lot of work and patience. I was unprepared for owning one, but after 9 years I am so happy I still own one.... er... I mean she owns me! They can be stubborn, sneaky, agile, smart, really fast runners, cat-like and tend to want to be the alpha dog. But with the right training, they can really bloom. My Shiba Inu Dobi is currently in Petco ads and on TV and has her own website, MyDarnDog.com
