Ive been eating healthy and just eating nice treats on a satarday. But lunch time in work i tend to have a flapjack with a healthy tuna/bean or chicken salad. Im probably in denial, but are flapjacks too bad or do u think ok to eat on a diet?

Ok, Thanks fr the comments, but i would like to add, i know they are full of sugar and butter etc, and what i tend to do sometimes is eat them with a VERY small salad. So even if they were 400 cals, i just thought id have them instead of a big meal. Im compltely in denial tho. I go to th gym 4 times a week so i didnt think it wud do much harm. But i think il keep it for naughty day ;p lol!!

They're really fatty and sugary, as well as being full of carbs. They're made with syrup and butter! Don't you notice how heavy they sit on your stomach? You may as well eat two chocolate bars.

If you must have them (and I know they're delicious), Try only eating a bitesized portion, then save the rest for another day.

600 calories is really not a lot. while it's true that a lot of tv shows and internet sites say people need 2500 calories per day or else they will go into 'starvation mode' etc etc, for your level of exercise you do need to be taking in some more calories. i would say 1400 calories per day. you will lose weight at a healthy rate, not sacrifice muscle mass, and you'll get there fast enough anyway!! the worst thing about going on a diet that's too restrictive is that you look skinny because you lose all your muscle, but when you start eating again you just become skinny-fat which is a *nightmare*. so good luck, and try to do this healthfully!

No flapjacks are great for losing weight
especially with lots of butter and syrup.
And it's best if you eat at least five at each meal.

I often try and tell myself that flapjacks are a healthy treat, but they are full of sugar, which your body will turn to fat. Just look at the amount of calories in them - loads! Have a few oatcakes instead!

Flapjacks are pretty high in calories - they're made with a lot of fat and sugar.

But a bit of what you fancy does you good, I reckon! Maybe not every day though...

What is your starting weight? For a very obese person it may be best to go to bed, drink plenty of water in the first week take plenty of rest then in the second week go for the monks diet eating soup at lunchtime then fasting to the next day and so on for as long as it takes. Drink as much cold boiled water that you can take. IT REQUIRES A WILL OF IRON but can be done.

I recon one small flapjack prepared as you wish is good, I like Aunt Jemima. Depends on how much oil it is cooked in? Oil is fatty not the batter, however it is high in carb especially if you use syrup.

Definitely not!

Try a bowl of healthy muesli with skimmed milk and sweetner instead.

Flapjacks contain more fat than Homer Simpson's bum!

If you are trying to reduce calories in order to lose weight, pancakes and waffles are not an ideal food choice. They are high in calories and typically have a low nutritional value.

To be honest, if you're on a healthy living kick I would cut out the flapjacks!
