I've found that women tend to subtely indicate their disinterest (or suddenly seem very busy). Why is it that they can't be totally honest and just say no thanks? I've read that guys sometimes do this too. Is this acceptable?

I just flash my engagement and wedding rings and say "too late".

I've seen it.

There are three reasons for people to get busy when they don't want to talk to someone:

1: They don't want to be bothered.
2: They don't want to hurt the other person's feelings.
3: The really are very, very busy.

Personally, I like the direct approach. However, I have found myself "too busy" without really being so as not to hurt the other person's feelings.

Just see how you act when the person you least want to talk to tries to get you in a conversation. You'll be amazed on how you will actually respond.

Alot of the time a woman is being shy and could quite possibly be interested. Say hi to her a few times and if she completely flicks you off then she is not interested but if she seems shy then well..she's shy and takes a bit more work. Hmmm and about the men...I'm not a man and but who knows what's going on in their brains.

The way you should see it is, if a woman is subtly declining, it means that she doesn't dislike you ( hence the little white lies of business to curb the blow), but she also knows that she's not interested in pursuing anything. I think in some cases it's highly expected and good practice to 'soften the blow.'

It's very rare that women stand up for what they beleive or feel. I am one of those outspoken few who says what I feel and when I say NO, it's means NO.

well have u ever heard the joke that for a woman it is easier just to have sex with a man she doesn't like than to explain why she doesn't like him and why she doesn't want to have sex. i agree with this joke - it is so hard to tell a man that he sucks and i don't want to see him again. it is better just to disappear without explaining

When I do that it means that I'm not sure whether I'm interested or not, and I don't want to say yes or no yet...

let's just say, we, women are more wary to hurt anyone's feelings as we don't want people hurting us... we're more sensitive in that sense
