You approach her when she is alone, and ask her who she is going to the dance with, if she says she does not already have a date, then simply ask her if she wants to go with you. If you find this easier on aim, then that is fine, but I think it would be better to do this in person. good luck

as a man that has been indirect about a lot of things you want to be clear with the questionand if you are interested inher for more than a friedn then you ahd better let her know or else she wotn know for sure.

Adirect question would be best adn practice in mirror alot before asking her to make sure you smile and are confident when you actually ask her.
Be brzenand when you ask she will apprciate your confidence. So ask her something like this
"hey ms_____ so n so you know i really like you as a friend but i also would like to take you to the dance as my date . What do ya say?"

i'm kinda in the same situation except i'm not asking someone to go to a dance I want to ask them out, but I'm very shy and don't know exactly how I am to do it. So I am pretty stuck in situations such as this, so I hope someone can help you out, but sorry I can't, because I don't know how to deal with this, it's too similar to my problem, though I would suggest that you just go right out and ask her, ask her as a friend would though. Good luck! =)

I definitely wouldn't say anything about being just friends, in fact, it's much more flattering to be asked on a more personal note. Besides, if you actually have feelings for this girl, don't go selling yourself short by immediately ruling out the possibility.

Would you like to go to the dance?

Also a tip, you might be nervous because you don't know how to dance. Go learn the dance first, know how to dance. Trust me, it boost your confidence big time, and it's great for the next time. Trust me on this one, I do ballroom dance.

Used to just be a social dancer, but now I train to compete. Now when I ever I go to socials, they girls are going after me for a dance.

A great way would be "Hey, would you like to go to the dance with me?"
Don't bring up the "as a friend" thing. It just makes it more complicated than it is!

Good luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Things arent as they seem in the movies so you just walk up to her and give her a single red rose and say " I would be honored if you would accompany me to the dance," You have to remember the worst thing she could say is "NO" then there is over 100 girls who saw your romantic intention and would love to be your date.
