Heh. Here's another proverb/adage that, I hope, helps and I will explain both: "Its not the cards you're dealt; its how you play 'em". Basically, both are 'have hope' statements. As interpreted by myself these adages mean: God/Nature/Genes didn't give you what others have. But, despite the lacking qualities you may posses, don't let that keep you from whatever your dreams or "the moon" may be to you. Its "how you play your cards" that determines if you reach "the moon" or not. Thus, "you don't have to be tall (i.e.,God-given or uncontrollable talents/hinderences) to see the moon". It means that it takes no special skills to note the obvious.
