I hate being shy, but that's the way I am, especially when it comes to asking guys out. I mean I bet you hear a lot of situations similar to this one but i genuinely would like some advice. There is this guy that I really like, and I get on really well with him but I have no idea how he feels about me. I'm really sick of just sitting back and doing nothing, I want to take action but I need some ideas on how to do so subtly. Please and thank you! =)

and what i mean by really like him, is really really like him, like wanna date him kind of like him, just thought i'd make my feelings clear about him as there is a guy amongst here somewhere who seemed a little confused.

first, make him comfortable in your company. study with him, sit with him during lunch, chat with him about anything, greet him when you pass him by. just mundane things in your everyday, then by and by he'll get used to seeing you.
then ask him out for a cup of coffee or a lunch someplace casual. nothing too formal this early so he won't freak out. always keep the chat light and funny. then maybe when he feels comfortable being with you, something nice will develop between you two.
i believe in destiny but sometimes you need to nudge, not push, the fates to the right direction...

Be straight-forward. Call him or strike up a conversation. Be outrageously open. Tell him stupid little things that are still intimate. Let him in a little bit and he'll bite. Maybe it'll even improve the non-romantic relationship you have together.
If you want to be with him... then ask him out. It's not uncommon! He'll probably say yes! Guys are always looking for tail, to put it bluntly. Even if you aren't going to give him any... now OR later on... have fun! Civil dating and having a good time never killed anyone!

haha. i didnt know there were people like me still around. i know exactly how u feel, im 18 and still shy as anything. & ive found that the only way to be not shy is to just break out of your shell and do what u gotta do. just go up to him and persue him, hes probably guna see that your nervous too hehe but it should work out. just approach him, talk to him gradually and then try and get him on a couple of dates, blah blah blah..the whole 9. u see where im goin with this.

im really shy at those things just ask him if he likes you as a friend or more then maybe you can ask him out or get friend to do it
