When I was ignorant I thought homosexuality was a choice for them but after getting to know a couple of them I realized that was who they were.

It's not a crime to be who you are born to be.

The bible says alot of things most of it is bull.

God is the One who sets morality and has declared homosexuality to be an abomination. Why? is not always something we can answer. Maybe homosexuality has some social probllems that that God wants to spare us from, maybe things like AIDS for example. Also sex with the perspective of procreation is very self sacrificing, but among those of same sex it is totally self centered, seek only gratification for yourself, which is completely contrary to the the principles of Jesus Christ which taught that we need to even lay down our lives for others. Also there are some spiritual reasons that I am not sure you can understand the implications of but are taught in the Bible.
The Bible does not teach and never has taught that man has a free will and can make free choices. The Bible clearly ells us what to do and what not to do and what God demands is obedience, not for us to exercise our free choice.

Whay... If you are struggling/ or happily living the lifestyle, any thing that I say over this may not be conveyed accurately. I want you to know my heart, that I believe no matter what your choices, or anything you are special, you are deeply and dearly loved, that I really truly care, and love you, even though I don't know you.

First tongue in cheek
YES, you have free choice, So you choose to snack on arsenic? Live snakes? throw your self in to a river full of paranahs? eat snails (sorry that is a bit harsh however the two are totally unrelated) My point is we reason what we shall and shall not do based on what we know about the afore mentioned options. We dont snack on arsenic because too much of it is poisonous. We dont usually eat live snakes even if the head is chopped off it might wriggle of the plate. Paranahs eat you.

The Bible is against Homosexuality because it is not God's best, Paul says everything is permissable but not everything is good for you. I didn't chose that lifestyle or sexuality (you know I am sure every has thought about it) because God designed the world he wrote a manual that up to right now and later on makes so much sense and helps me out of major scraps, it gives me hope, and I have true joy, peace and love (3 qualities that based on my experiences I really shouldn't have.) God is amazing.

God designed it that "A man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife." Gen 2:21

Seriously ask God, seek him he will answer, ask him, tell him this really confuses you. God is faithful and just, he is merciful he doesn't want you to be confused, He will answer if you ask

When we read the Bible we really need to do it with God's guidance (then cos I sometimes don't believe I bounce it off my Pastor and it is like he knows and leaves me with the same impression God gave me with out telling me.)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight (he will direct you)

I pray God blesses you and reveals to you himself, as the Bible is breathed by God and God used people and their experiences to wirte the Bible.

God Bless you richly as you continue searching and seeking God.

Homosexuality is a mental deviation??? LOL I find comments like that totally amusing. Anyway.......

You have to look at it from a sociological perspective. In "biblical" times the goal was to increase population. Many infants and mothers died during child birth, so creating a man-made "religious" law that labeled any behavior a "sin" that may further decrease the population growth was common... and effective. I don't think you need to look for any reason other than that.

its because the catholic church feel that they have to control everyone. they're scared of people breaking away from their control. most of the rules and stuff assosciated with catholicism and christianity are from like the middle ages and stuff where people got scared more easily, and a lot of the laws and whatnot are outdated. such as women cant be priests, and homosexuality is wrong.

catholics believe that homosexuals aren't "natural" and the union between a man and a woman is what "god wants".

ive asked the nuns at my school this question plenty of times.
they aren't all for free choice either.
they're all for doing everything they say so you can love your god, and be controlled. i dont think it started out that way, and i think that the rules once upon a time may have worked "dont kill your neighbours" etc etc but like i said they're outdated.

I think that the bible was just written by those who wanted people to behave in the manner that was accepted at that time. I'm NOT a believer in the Bible b/c it is MAN-MADE. I don't think anyone should feel bad about who they are, unless they are a bad person who does things intentionally to hurt others (name calling, fighting, back-stabbing, etc.)

I agree for instance the king james version was changed for the social norm of the times. I trust god and what he has done for me and the love that he has shown me through the years. There are many ,many inconsistincies in the bible.

the bible was never for free choice. it said believe or die.
the free choice is whether to live or die. which means there is no choice because death is not an alternative to living. death means you cease to exist.

homosexuality is bad because it is a mental deviation. but i beleive it can be treated.
