Joe Louis would win since he was just as skilled of a fighter and was about 40 pounds heavier in his prime than Robinson who was welter/middleweight

Joe Louis is arguably the greatest heavyweight champion of all time and has dynamite in both fists. He was usually around 200 lbs of solid muscle for most of his fights. Sugar Ray Robinson was probably the greatest welterweight champion (147 lbs) of all time and an all time great middleweight champion (160 lbs) as well. He was an outstanding boxer and probably the greatest pound for pound fighter ever. There is no way this fight would happen as Louis is just way to big and powerful for Robinson.

The fight goes just like the Louis-Conn bout did. Louis' famous words "He can run, but he can't hide" would ring true. I think Sugar Ray, with his boxing skills, makes this an entertaining fight but 15 rounds is a long time to hit and not be hit by Joe Louis and at some point, Ray makes that one little mistake and "BOOM" the right hand ends the fight.

Did Joe Louis ever have a boxing match with Sugar Ray Robinson. I was a kid when Joe Louis was heavyweight Champion. I don't recall Sugar Ray as being one of Joe's contemporaries.

Well, while both being great fighters, you can't ignore the weight difference.
A lot of people speculate and call fighters "pound for pound the best". But I believe, if you could have had both in their prime fight each other, it would have to go with Joe Louis because of the weight difference.
Joe Louis fought a much lighter fighter in his prime and was losing on points, but late in the fight one Heavyweight punch gave him the KO victory.

At one time during the height of his fabulous career, Sugar Ray Robinson had a record of 131-2-1 or something like that and was almost impossible to beat. During his career he beat such men as Henry Armstrong, Fritzie Zivic, Sammy Angott, Rocky Graziano, Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, Denny Moyer, Kid Gavilan, George Abrams, Bobo Olson, Randy Turpin among others. He could do it all, box, had great footwork, blazing handspeed, ring generalship, a tough chin, and good power. Calzaghe is a fine fighter and of course retired undefeated that built up a lot of his record with easy fights early in his career. He did beat Hopkins to his credit who is a good fighter and Roy Jones Jr who is no doubt washed up in my opinion. Joe has great speed and good boxing skills though his chin was always a little suspect. I'm not sure if Ray would knock Joe out or not, but he would outspeed, and over power him on his way to a unanimous decision.

Would never have happened. Louis was a heavyweight, Sugar Ray a middleweight.
Hypothethical: Sugar Ray, he was the greatest fighter ever. All the boxing experts agree. Besides he would have moved to much for Louis to get to him.

Sugar Ray by KO. Louis is heavier and stronger but Robinson is way faster.

As a Hwy wt, Louis would have no problem defeating Robinson. You need to learn more about boxing, logic and deductive reasoning.
