Doing a science project for my thesis. Need to know how to contruct a working thermonuclear device. The prototypes so far have all failed to work and I only have about a week left until the paper is due.

Your prototypes failed, and you want someone to do your design, testing and construction work for a weapon of mass destruction?
This question shows that you are very far from having a workable theory (let alone a weapon), or you have actually developed a "suitcase" device and are checking on the competition. In either case you will most likely be answering a lot of questions for some very unhappy people soon.

humorous project is, i have not in any respect got here across this style of ideal precision made gadget in nature. Nature is sloppy, that is why human eyes are not almost as reliable of a layout as those of an octopus, why human beings are frequently born - or die earlier delivery - from defects, etc. So in accordance with what i have observed in nature, there replaced into both an incompetent dressmaker or none in any respect. For atom bombs:
way one:
Take two sub critical globes of fizzile material of equal mass. Slam them together hard enough. boom.
way two:
compress one subcritical mass with chemical explosives.
For H bombs:
Take an atom bomb and detonate it in a specially manufactured compartment next to to a fusion fuel.
