Hi, I was reading about Lhaso Apsos just the other day ... comparing them with Shih Tzus which are very similar in appearance to the Lhaso, just slightly smaller & more generally friendly ... Lhaso Apsos were, apparently, bred as temple guards & are more aloof.

As to what they are like as puppies ... well, they look very cute indeed! lol Here's a website telling you a bit about what to expect (though it is not really puppy specific)

If you're looking for a puppy to show, rather than just a pet, then you might like to check out the Champdogs site - as it is generally the breeders of show dogs who use this site to advertise themselves & their puppies. The site also gives locations:

Otherwise, as has already been suggested, try the ePupz site. This one is searchable by breed & location & will give details of breeders, puppies, dogs & rescue.
http://www.epupz.co.uk/
You have to join ePupz in order to see the contact details - but joining if free & it gives you the opportunity to be notified by email when new ads are placed that match your criteria.

The Kennel Club website also gives you information on buying a dog or puppy, with advice on where to look & what to look for, information on accedited breeders & a puppy register. It might be worth a browse.

Good luck

Go to google and do a search for the lhasa apso club in the UK. Read all you can about the breed and speak to owners. They need massive amounts of coat care. Down the the skin combing every single day and also professional grooming or clipping every 8-12 weeks. There are some hereditary problems they suffer from so you need to find out about those and go to a proper breeder who tests all the parent stock before breeding.

You obviously haven't done your research, as you don't even know what they're like as puppies, yet you seem to be decided on this breed already!? Deciding on a breed is about more than what it look's like, it needs to be more importantly how the dog's nature can fit in with your life. I'd suggest doing more reseach, and when you're done and finally decided, go onto the KC website, and find a reputable breeder in your area, then contact the breeder to find out when the next litter is planned/due.

Hi I live in the US and I just lost one in May. I also have a female. They are beautiful pups and they have to be maintaned and if not using them for show asI didn't had their hair cut as they can get very notted. As they get older they get a temperment to protect as mine did and they really aren't a kids dog. They can be very snippy as my Meister was. I corrected him and he would growl at me as if Don't tell me what to do. I would do a little bit more investigating on the breed before you get one. Learn the upkeep and the care. I hope I helped you about the nature of them. They are a good house pet though and I really loved mine and they are very protective of me. I agree with the others check the Kennel club in your area.
