Why is religion so well followed?

I beleive that all religions to be corrupt especially the catholic religion and why do so many people beleive in religion as there is no proof that jesus ever existed and all that water into wine and walking over water with todays technology walking over water still isnt possible I beleive the bible to be all fiction and also if there is 1 God why isnt there just 1 religion to be honest I think it just 1 big joke as we were all created by aliens from outer space as explained in the erich von daniken books which speaks more sense than the bible ever will

Is there actual evidence that he existed of course no scholar would cite this as evidence because no letters exist of Pilate to Seneca, and Seneca never mentions Jesus in any of his writings

coz u actually existed!
Similarly, the people who saw Jesus, believed he existed & their next generations also believe that he existed...
JUST like, after 13 years of ur grand fathers death, ur children ask u did our grand grand father ever existed??

Walking on water is a miracle which was seen by those followers & also the enemies of followers & their leader...

Different people have different perspectives...
Some thought the animals which can harm humans were GOD, like lion, Snake etc..

some thought those animals which give us benefits of food or milk are GOD, like Goat, COW etc....

Some thought they them selves are GOD as they were rich. who forced poor people to follow & bow heads in front of these kings....

Some others thought hand made Idols are GOD...

Some thought Storms are GOD.....

Some thought God is invisible.....

Some took a leader & started following him...making him GOD....

& some think, its just a plain coincidence that every thing is happening it self....
it is just coincidence that a micro-scopic DNA contains information as much as the entire world history known to man, from big bang to this second, every birth, death, war, storms, religion texts etc .. every thing...

Some think there is some GOD atleast, who made every thing in universe etc... but still are double minded whether GOD exists or not....

So thats why there are different versions of GODs .....
BUT actually there is only one GOD who made all this setup of this universe.....

there is no alien intelligent than humans....
the aliens(if they exist) are also creatures og GOD like us or animals...

SO who ever says that GOD dosent exist, is wrong.
GOD exists, & is One!

Actually there is ample proof that Jesus existed as a historical figure. Several ancient historians including Josephus mention him. Christianity had spread to the entire Roman empire within two hundred years after Christ's death. Do you think all of these people believed in the divinity of a man who didn't even exist? Heck just look at the time line in a 5th grade world history book. What do you think B.C stands for? Western society measures time based upon the life and death of Jesus Christ. Quite an acomplishment for an imaginary person.

You've got some good points there. I think there has been evidence found that there was a bloke called Jesus of Nazareth so I won't argue with that one.
I think people follow religion for a lot of reasons. The main one would probably because that's what they have been brought up with so they just accept it. There are other people who are just weak and need to believe in God or something to make them be good people.
I agree with you that religions are corrupt. No one can truly know if their religion or belief is right or wrong, the problem is that those with really strong faith will do all they can to convince others, as well as themselves, that it's all true. If people want to find "proof" of anything then they probably can. It will just be proof of their personal interpretation.

Yes i use to ask myself that same question
But people do not read the Bible the way it should be read
and i believe that the Bible is Gods word
and some people just try and read it like they would read a book
and you can not really do that,
I did not believe once but them my mother became a reborn christian
and she started praying for me and after my mother died
God answered her prays. I started for no good reason to sing

Jesus loves me yes i no for the bible tell me so

turned right around. and i know that is because of Jesus

The religion followed by the man so as to get the speritual reliafe on the earth.When God create the man unfortunately the Sin created also.The man can not survive a sin unless on the believal of the God and follows his ten commands.You cant follow the ten commands withought engaging yuorself in the relgion matters.Pray the Lord.

Friend you can believe in anything you want to, Religion is not the answer, nor is your question the answer, Salvation is the answer, & there is a difference, Religion can be anything, even your question can be found in the religion ideal, But true salvation can only be found in the heart. Your unbelief does NOT change God one bit, You think that all is a myth, well pinch yourself & see if you are not a myth, If you feel something then come back with a better question, If you don't feel anything try to hold a match lit in your hand with the flame buring your skin, Then I will talk to you about if it is a myth or not.

Oh thats easy! People continue to be brought up on it.
Ask a religious person if someone in their family shares that religion...if they were pushed to church every sunday...if they went to a parochial school. Religions are all very similar in the fact that they think everybody else is wrong and damned...how sad but there are reasons that people in India are hindu and people in France and Christian. They were brought up on it, the culture surrounds them, they are taught a certain way from a young age and it usually sticks.
In my experience, my dad is fairly catholic...im definetely not...but of course i participate in Christmas and occasional mass. If I were jewish, id do the passover thing,
I guess its about family and the need to belong to a group and the need to think that youre right and better than everyone
and the need to think that your life makes sense
Plus, people are highly emotional...if you tell them they can pray and be answered, that they can feel joy in their sorrow, and that they can somehow live forever...it doesnt sound half bad.
People think they need some kind of permanent father figure to be happy.. You know what the worst part about religion is? "God's will" if you pray for something and it doenst happen..oh it was gods will or you did something wrong...if soemthing came of it, oh its gods blessing. no one can explain "fate"

Not all religion revolves around Jesus and the Bible. There is only one God, he is just known by many names. Even you admit we were created by someone/something, this creator is God.
We may have no proof that Jesus walked on water, and yes it is impossible to walk on water with todays technology. but look around you, look at the flowers, tress, animals etc- it is also impossible to create all this with todays technology (these creations show how powerful and perfect our creator is)

It's because most people need something supernatural to prop up their life. They aren't comfortable with the idea of nothing after death (which, in reality is just a long-lived myth started by those who didn't know any better) so they need some faith that there is something going on afterwards and that only the good will make it there.

Christianity is not a religion it is a relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ.
The natural man understands not the things of the spirit of God they are foolishness to him.
Therefore your remark about it not making sense to you is right.
The Bible is divine viewpoint and can only be spiritually discerned.
