Too big for what? Depending on the chip, you can get an I.C. chip smaller than your, little finger nail, or so small you have to use a magnifying glass to see it, or as big as a pack of cigarettes.. Depending on its application, they can have 2-3-4 legs to solder to a printed circuit (p.c.) board, or 24 legs, to an infinite amount.,100 legs... Every leg of a chip does a different job, some may go to ground, some may have negative voltage, most will have positive voltage, and some chips have multiple voltages, . 1 chip could have a leg that's negative -3 volts, a leg that's +16 volts, another 32 volts, another, input, or output ?? volts There's no end to what a chip can or cannot do.It can turn on, or off at a specified time. So exactly what is your question?
