Slap your own leg with a newspaper or magazine when she does this, and yeaow! like it hurts like heck..She will quickly make the connection..and you haven't threatened her at all..

Just carry a magazine around with you when it is a likely time for to show that exuberance, and smack a loud one on your thigh

she is trying to get attention and if you react at all she wins.

Ignore her whenever she does this, turn you back, walk away, say nothing and dont even look her in the eyes for 5 mins.

Plus, when ever she or you enters a room, ignore her for 5 mins before saying hello, stroking her anything. Get ALL your friends and family to do the same.

* Typical over reaction is the US below, English Bull Terriers are not killers, never have been, they do actually make good pets for children. Some other type of terriers are less tolerant, but English and Staffordshire are excellent dogs with good temperments.

She needs to learn her place in YOUR pack, you are the leader.

Nothing wrong with an English bull! Well, now as far as the jumping others have good suggestions, such as the paper, etc. The way I got mine to stop the jumping was to gently back kick and time it so my heal would meet her chest. A NO and all really did the trick. Probably after about ten goes, she had learned the lesson. Took about more with knee up to stop frontal assaults. She only wanted love and attention no matter from what direction she approached. Now ten years old, she has been faithful, loyal, wanting to please, while potential human partners have buggered off or been told to bugger.
Animals are honest in their love and affection, and have no other desire but to be pleasing and to share love.
I might add, the person who mentioned order in the pack made an important point. Being kind, gentle, and firm usually works. If nothing else, hold her down and growl in her ear, seriously. It actually works!
Best, and enjoy you canine mate, she will probably be the most constant and loyal person in your life over time!

The person at the bottom of the page obviously knows jack sh** about bull terriers, they are far from killers and they have wonderful personalities and are fantastic family pets, being someone who has always owned these dogs I think I know. Dogs are not born killers, they are made that way by idiots that don't know how to bring them up. He probably used his dogs for fighting, in which case I pity him and he shouldn't be able to own dogs. He obviously has no idea what fantastic dogs they are!!! The person at the top of the page gave good advice, turn away, don't show any attention at all, once the dog is sitting nicely then you can greet him. He will soon understand what he's supposed to do to get you to pet him. Enjoy your wonderful dog. :o)

The best thing to do would be to take her to dog training lessons where they can teach her all sorts of things, not jumping being one of them. That's what people do all the time in order to stop them from jumping on visitors etc.

get rid of that dog . she will kill u 1 day . I had bullterrier before .I know what iam talking about.it is not german shepard. This dog is created for violence.
You need to have good experience with dogs in order to have it .I advise u to be extremely carefull with it . if it is small . you should get some proffesional advise.
if you have that dog .you can compare it with gun.It is really stupid ,artificial dog.If you dont control her .she will control you.
