Because a man always has to be right and can never admit to being wrong. I guess its a macho thing. My husband does it all the time and it drives me mad!

Men have such over inflated egos that they cannot ever realise they are wrong. They will never ever back down. They will turn everything round on you because in their eyes, they can do nothing wrong. A classic example of this is when I was having an argument with my boyfriend about how he had lent his friend some money out of our joint account - believe it or not, this was actually my fault for allowing him access to our joint account. Huh?!

Yeah they have to win arguments, even the mild mannered ones, hate to lose its a male competitive thing. My husband is a sweetheart but don't try even the slightest little criticism or he will turn it around that you have a problem. He on the other hand has no problems with insulting me big time, but I don't argue back life's too short to get upset all the time.

Women develop "better" communication through all their chatting gossiping, back stabbing etc, guys though when growing up use our actions define us. Arguments happen as both poor communictors, guys because we dont always have the skills "bird logic" and girls because they assume we thinking the same way as them which we most often aren't.

What I dont understand is couples who get married who were ALWAYS arguing and then they just about all end up divorcing/cheating.

i have been with my hubby for 18 years and when we were first together i would never argue with him, and he would feel guilty as hell. now i argue back to put my view across. we are both stubborn but it is always him who apologises, just to clear the air. i am very stubborn and even if i am in the wrong he will apologise so we can be on speaking terms again. and i am so aware how awful that sounds i am a nice person really!!

They twist things round back on us cause they know we are right and its a defence mechanisum thingy they got goin on. They cant help it. Just say your bit and walk off, they never got nothing constructive to say so just say what you need to say and dont bother hanging about to listen to them turn it round on you!

The majority of them are wan!kers who do this, some are just plain thick. Bless them. x

i think it has something to do with male pride..they have to feel right in order to be a man or something like that...actually i think that both women and men feel thay are always right. If we agreed on everything then there would be no flowers, gifts etc....plus the making up

My bloke, at his age, should know better than to do this to me but he is really hurting me with it all. He is doing this at the momen and I guess men don't realise that they can really affect others. And he seems to think he is right.

yeah sorry about that.

i do it, and i'm a bloke. i don't really know why. i think it's my way of trying to win the argument.

maybe it's just our ego can't take being wrong.

good luck on your quest in finding an answer to this.

again, on behalf of all men, i'm sorry.
