"The Church" is the Catholic Church which is the body and bride of Christ and is made up of people all around the world who believe in the authority that Jesus gave to His Church, and in particular, the authority given to the Pope to teach in all matters of faith and morals.

"a church" is a popular slang word people use when talking about a building made for people to worship God. The Catholic Church does not officially use this slang term to describe a building because there is only one true Church, the Catholic Church. The term used by the Catholic Church to describe a building is "parish".

The Church is like a body. The true Church is NOT a Building. The True Church is a group of true Christians from all around the world. One has to be careful that one is not part of the False Church which Revelations 17 warns us about. The "Whore of Babylon" is the Catholic Church. The True Church is a Sabbath keeping Church and the True Church has the revelation of Jesus Christ of what will happen in the "Final Days"

To me, Its not the building that makes the church, rather the people. The real meaning of 'church' has to do with a congregated group of people who usually have a common belief, so its not really the building but the people that occupy the building.

Historically the Church was the gathering of the people to worship. The name transferred to the meeting place at a later stage. So in fact the church is really the people.

A church house is just a building, Our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, we are the church that walks in truth & not a building, The bible says fo us to present our bodies a living sacrifice, Holy & acceptable unto God.

no the church is supposed to be the body of christ the people... but most christians are lukewarm... so even tho they are are technically the church they are not where they are suppsoed to be... it wasnt till 300 ad that church was in a building up until then it was outside or in houses... they took the idea from greek philosophers in fact church as it should be... everyone should be able to teach and participate. not just the pastor.

rev 3 16 for what lukewarm means... spue means to vomit to completely empty the contents of the stomach.

No a church isn't just a building. Not to the people that worship there. Nor do you need to be in a church to worship.

It is the people in the church that makes the place itself a spiritual place of worship. Upon that statement, yes and no, really. My church, I believe is filled with good people, who practice what they preach, and while we may be small..we are big in Gods eyes. So in churches who are true believers, and Warriors of Christ, no. A church is not just a building, it is a place of peace, praise, worship, love, hopes, and most of all, accepting the blood of Christ

The church isnt just a building when owned by the church organisations, it then a place opf worship and of work, but ........ when they sell it on because of falling congregation stats, and a builder buys it and converts it into flats or single dwellings then it becomes a building.
Thats how I see it,
