okay so i own a Olympus c-740 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera and the lens was accidentally scratched so it's impossible to take a picture without seeing the blur from the scratch. Is there any way to fix it without getting a whole other camera? Because those things get expensive! Any advice will help. Thanks

Sell it to a Holga user. They'll think it's artistic!

Unfortunately, I Think A Repair Job Although Possible May Turn Out To Be Uneconomical But Would Advise You To Check It Out All The Same As It May Not Be As Costly As You Think? Good Luck Mate, It's Always Possible To Fix Things But More Often Than Not The Cost Is The Thing. Have A Gooday.

Unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do. It might cost too much to fix (if the lens can be replaced).
So, it would be cheaper to buy a new one.

Besides, that camera is at least 3 1/2 years old, and quite outdated at 3.1 MP.
You can get newer and better cameras nowadays...that are good, but not too expensive.

Besides the fact the Olympus won't have the parts for our 4 year old camera, the labor and repair costs would be prohibitavely expensive, the answer is no i'm afraid.

Sorry to tell you this but the answer is "No." Replacing the lens would surely cost more than replacing the entire camera and you will never polish the blemish out.

I suggest you take it to the Olympus dealer in your town/city to see if they can fix it...if not unfortunately you will need to get it fixed by probably sending it 2 Japan (again through your dealer).

Good Luck with it I know how you feel right now:-(
