I think it was 11 years ago has been contacting me alot lately. I initiated contact a few years back, when he lived in town, and he stopped responding to my messages.
I just got my first email from him two months ago. He's moved halfway across the nation and since then, he's been in regular contact with me, inviting me to visit him and etc...Does this mean he's interested, and why pursue if he lives so far away? I mean, he didnt make an effort when he was closer.
What's the deal?

It's the nice comfy sweatshirt thing. You see, in moving 1/2 way across the country, he had to give up his home, the folks he casually said Hi to everyday, his favorite pizza joint, etc. He's lonely at his new place and has decided he wants friends. Instead of letting them develop, he wanted some already instant made. Well, there you are. He already knew you, etc.
I had this happen to me. Yes, he's interested. Yes, you can have a relationship. However, with everything being new to him now (but him learning it later on) that there will come a time when he doesn't need so much attention ... and he may develop into the guy you knew when he was in town.
I wish I could say "Go for it." My problem with trying it out is that he really does need to stand alone for a little bit, so you aren't the sudden substitute for his lack of companionship. It gets pretty draining and depressing being both a person's newfound companion but also his blame when he feels he needs other friends. You don't need that.
Good luck!

I guess he discovered that he needed you now and if you can pay him a visit, enjoy yourself and feel free to express your mind to him if you are interested.

as time passes sometimes people realize their feelings. He's travled and probably had time to compare your experience with him to other women he has been with...maybe he realize your someone he wants around? I think the real question is do you want him around?

do you still like him? maybe he doesnt have anyone and misses you. if you still have interest, e-mail him and see him. there may never be a reason, maybe he was just thinking of you and misses you.

now that he knows that a relationship will be too difficult, he finally feels "safe" talking to you.
he's just a friend now. enjoy it.
