12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

Is there another way to show you alliance to God? I mean if you are in the army you have a sign on your clothes showing others who your alliance is with, same with sports, politics, etc. A true Christians sign will be then the keeping holy of God's Sabbath, isnt it so?

Friend, you need to read verse 13 also, But the house of (WHO) Israel, not Gentiles, rebelled. Now let go to some more verses, First before I leave the old testament, let me ask you this, Moses had the 10 commandments in his hand, Did not Moses himself take those 10 commandments & break them against a rock. Now lets go to the new testament, Mark 2:27-28 & Matt.12:1-8 & read all of Mark chapter 2 & 3, Now I can give you many verses to read more about the Sabbath, God rested on the 7th day, Why, was God completely tired from making the earth, NO, God never needs rest, But God was typing out a symbolic meaning here, That 7th day lasted 1000 yrs. & in the new Testamnt is says the LAW & PROPHETS(OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS) were until John, Jesus came not to destroy the law but to fulfilled it, therefore when Jesus hung there on the cross, there also hung the Law of the Old testament. Now Jesus says whosoever will come, let him come, & I will give him REST, our rest or sabbath is in Jesus Christ, & that 7th day God rested shows the type of 1000 yrs. Milleunnium where Jesus with his bride shall rule & reign for 1000 yrs. Now Friend Go to Colossians 2:16-17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days, 17: Which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ. You can also read Romans 14:3-4

Dear 3rd Angle M,

The context of Ezekiel Chapter 20-24 are a series of prophecies focusing on Jerusalem and Judah's history.

In Ezekiel 20- Judah's history of rebelliousness (particularly in the wilderness is reviewed).

God reminds them that he had lead them out of the wilderness, and the reference to the Sabbath is a visible manifestation of the Mosaic Covenant (see Isaiah 56:1-8). It was a sign to the Israelites that they were God's special people and were obligated to keep His law. It was both a promise and an exhortation to obedience.

This also coincides well with Jesus' teaching concerning the Sabbath in the New Testament found in John 9:16-17. Jesus reminds us that we don't follow laws- we follow Jesus. To follow Jesus is to obey Him.

Going to church doesn't make one Christian. But a Christian who does not go to church is first of all disobeying the Lord's exhortation to not forsake gathering (Hebrews 10:23-25) as we are called to exhort and encourage one another towards love and good deeds. So i will say not going to church can be a reflection (sign) of where your heart is with God-- but ultimately God is the one who knows and judges our heart. Ezekiel 20 in its context is not teaching about a sign of a true believer. It is teaching on God's true promise to the believer that He would be our God and we would be His people. Except in the New Testament our access is by God's Son Jesus and not by our obedience to the law accompanied by sacrifices.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

Actually, the keeping of the Sabbath is multi--purpose, it is a day of rest, a Commandment, a ' Memorial of Creation ' and a Day of Insignia { A Invisible Seal }Yes, keeping the Sabbath would be a sign.

The apostle Paul says at Colosians 2:16,17 That let no jusge you.....of a sabbath, ..... They are a shadow of things to come'. When you see a person, do you concentrate on the shadow of the person or on the person??? Surely the person, Jesus came not to abolish the law but to give a proper explanation of it and he has done that, so we concentrate now on his life and teachings. The sabbath law served its purpose then, Christ is the reality of the law.

Colossians 2

16. Let no man therefore JUDGE you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH days:
17. Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

THIS IS A NEW COVENANT NOT THE LAW

GO STUDY THE NEW TESTAMENT MORE, IT WILL HELP US TO SEE GOD'S
PLAN. JESUS SAID "FOLLOW ME" NOT THE LAW
