Defintion: a couple , resting comfortably front to back like two matching spoons . This expression originated in the 1850s. It is a way for the man to serve as comfort and protection for his woman. It was also done to create warmth.

When two people are laying side by side, such as one laying on there side facing east and u are laying right behind them facing
east also, like dancing on the dance floor rubbing up against
a person but u do this laying down, kind of cuddling!
