Dear secular,
First i agree with you that there are answers from people who call themselves Christian on yahoo answers that are not very Christ-like. Some people who call themselves Christians are not Christians and others have a lot of growing up to do and they need the grace to do that.
In terms of your conclusion that Islam and Christianity is the same- they are not. Islam does not believe that Christ is God- while Christianity is based on following Christ because He is God.
i think Islam well tell you that there belief is different from Christianity.
Personally i do have Islamic friends and while i can not agree with them theologically (and will not) that is a part of what religious freedom is. People do not have to agree on religion and can express that... it's how you express it that matters.
Jesus was always up-front but loving and the two great commandments in Christianity is to love God and to love your neighbors. Part of loving your neighbors is telling them the truth about God- but once again it's how you do it-- and i agree with you that there have been those who call themselves Christian that have not expressed that in a Christ-like manner.
Hope this helps.
Kindly,
Nickster

I don't have that attitude at all. I respect all other religions. Not all Christians are the same. In fact, there are many different types of Christians. I have always believed that religion should be separate from politics for that very reason. Not everyone has the same beliefs, and you can't base laws on what a portion of the people believe.

I can't speak for everyone but as a member of the world community, this is the way I see it. If the Christians were to have their way, the muslims would be free to practice their religion in peace (although it was not always so). If the Muslims were to have their way, all the Christians (and agnostics) would be killed.
Except for that, there are many similarities between the two.

life isnt fair.
Religions are about control. And you cant have 2 differnet religions respect the other when theyre both about absolute control. They both have different expectations of control and as such wont see eye to eye. Think abouyt how many WARS are fought over religions and how both the christians and the muslims have committed atrocities in the name of their loving God.

i admire the 1st commandment, 'thou shall have no others gods till now me.' needless to say, the adult men who wrote the bible are acknowledging that different gods exist. Christians might might desire to confess that they are agnostic regarding those different gods. As oftentimes going on, Jon M gave a considerate answer.

please, one point at a time.
The 2 religions are not similar
One has Christ as God, one has Christ as a Human. To the muslim perspective this is not too big a deal. Christians - this is THE core belief.
Please do not take yahoo answers as the authority of how people treat each other. Every group here has a few trolls that make it bad for the whole bunch.
I can speak for myself, I has Islamic friends, and they call me a friend. We enjoy our religious conversations. (and we are both funamental extremist believers). On a grand scale, I can not give percentages of who is nicer, and pointing out a few radicle people in the news is a lousy objective comparison, even worse than yahoo answers as a poll

I am Christian and I don't agree with your statement, however, I must agree that I am also appalled at the attitude of some fellow Christian brothers and sisters. We should not judge others lest we be judged ourselves. How are we going to reflect the teachings of Jesus and glorify his name if we act with a boastful attitude towards others. Christ mingled with thieves, prostitutes and lepers and forgave them all. We should be leading by our good works not hatred.
Cheers!

Officially the Christian religion does not say anything about Islam ,but officially the Muslim religion says that Jesus did not die on the cross:so who is making a liar out of Jesus?

You are disturbed by all religions period. People who you use in this question think that you have respect for them yet you have No respect or fairness for those who believe period. Pride stirs up strife and brings forth a destructive path and a quick demise. *(*

You don't know much do you? Muslims "respect" Jesus by saying He isn't God. Just a good prophet. Yeah, right!!!
