It is very normal. My daughter did it even though she was potty trained. We always stopped the drinks about an hour before she went to bed and then realized that was the culprit. Now she is 5 1/2 years old and we have no problems. If she wants a drink after bedtime now, we tell her she can have one but must go potty right after.
My daughter wasn't potty trained until about 3-3 1/2 years too. She was very stubborn and only wanted to do it when she wanted to. All the prodding we did, didn't have much affect on her.
Your son most likely will outgrow this.

Yes! Bladder control (even after successful day time potty training) is more difficult at night.
A lot of children wet the bed until they are 6, 7 or older. Not every night, but occasionally.
It just means he is not waking up in time. His brain must want to be in a deep sleep and not wake up, while his bladder still needs to be emptied.
Just make sure you have a waterproof mattress pad so your mattress doesn't get ruined.
Also, you can talk to him and leave a night light on in the bathroom. Let him know there is nothing to be afraid of at night, even that it's OK to turn on the big light if he has to. Make sure that is not what is causing the problem.

Yes it's very common. As long as it isn't a nightly occurance it's just fine. Lots of kids wet the bed on occasion all the way up until age 6. My son will be 4 in December and has been potty trained since he was 26 months and still wets the bed about once a month. We limit his fluid intake past 7pm and have him go potty right before he goes to bed. We also have a plastic mattress liner under his sheets to protect his mattress just in case.

My son is 4 and just got potty trained a few weeks ago . I had a hard time with that . I still have to put a pull up on him at night cause sometimes he still goes. I wake him up b4 I go to bed but he still does it . He is a deep sleeper. I been asking around and am surprized how many kids are in pull ups at night . So its normal

My twin girls both wet their beds a couple a times a month at the age of four and it didn't stop until they were nearly five. As mentioned, nightmares could be the cause, but so could too much fluids before bedtime. If it becomes too much of a big deal, do not let your kid drink any fluids before bedtime. If your kid has to have a cup of water, feed him/her saltine crackers. The salt will help
retain the bodies fluids and keep the bed-wetting down.

It's perfectly normal. You may want to see if his bedwetting corresponds with bad dreams.. my daughter wet the bed until she was 5, but only when she had a bad dream. We started watching one cartoon before bed, to get her thinking happy thoughts, and her nightmares pretty much stopped. Also, I'd advise no drinks in the 2-3 hours preceeding bedtime! Hope this helps!

The time taken for a child to develop varies from individual to indivual.
Yes, it's quite normal for a 4 year old to wet the bed. From my own experience, stern warnings would haunt the child's mind. Although this is not encouraged, this is how my sister got over her bed wetness.

He still isn't "fully" potty trained, I kept diapers on my daughter at night until she stopped wetting the bed.

It might be a little uncommon. It's definitely not rare.
Some children do so until 10 to 12 years old. I have never heard of anyone going past that age.
Sometimes parents won't let their child drink anything a couple hours before going to bed.

Of course it is,especially if they've had a big day and are over tired, they'll sleep right through it . Don't make a big deal out of it in the morning just tell him that accidents happen and not to worry about it. make sure he goes to the bathroom right before getting into bed, and limit hi liquid intake after a certain hour.
