i was talking to my bf earlier on the phone and we were just chatting. here is our brief history: on and off for 16 months-most of the time was on but i broke up with him in june of this year, we go to the same university, are in love. well, anyways we were talking about what will happen when we graduate from the university we both are attending, mostly me opening the topic...his response was that we will both go our own separate ways..i told him that most college sweethearts date even they get their BS and while working on their Masters and he asked me what i wanted to do after i get my BA in teaching and i said to get a Masters and then to go and get a second BS in Biology and maybe a Master's. his response was that he will not wait that long here where we both attend school as though he is waiting for me or something-am io supposed to read his mind? then we talked about jobs and what we wanted from life and i said that i will be a teacher and he will be dealing w/ computers

then he makes this comment about how he will have his kids in my class and maybe name his kids after me: if they are girls-one Ingrid and the other Cristina-what the heck?-he always told me that he did not want kids because they would screw up his life yet now he changes his mind not even 4 months later! but he does not want to marry me or see himself with me in the future or us having a family but with someone else we have dated for 16 months, so should i just walk out on this relationship? i know that when you date someone for that long you are looking at a committnet as well as something serious. is this the case or should i move on?

Well, all I can tell you is what you already know, you're never going to get a commitment out of this guy. At least he's being honest with you. If I were you I would tell him I want to be free to see other guys now. I don't see the point being exclusive with one when there's no long term future.

Move on. A man who loves you with his whole heart will not jerk you around like this. Don't worry, that man is out there somewhere.

I'd listen to my gut. He's trying to tell you that you do it his way or he wants out.

No offense to you but it is late and I am tired... no one wants to read a novel... just ask your question.... :)
