This happened to me when I found out I was allergic to antibiotics. I didn't develop the allergy until I was a teenager. Because the medicine was in my bloodstream, I had to deal with the hives all over my entire body for a couple of days. Most painful, I must say.
Hopefully, you can take Benedryl and feel better shortly. If you have started a new medication recently, still take Benedryl and just try to deal with the pain. You should go to the emergency room or call 911 if you start to feel faint or dizzy (see anaphylaxis reaction on WebMD).
If you can't figure out what it is you're allergic to, you should see a doctor at some point soon that can do a "scratch test." Some allergies are very serious and can be fatal if overexposed (like peanuts, shellfish, bee-stings). Hang in there!

You've come in contact with something your allergic to, most likely since it's confined to your torso it was something your skin came in contact with. Have you changed your laundry detergent recently? This is one of the common causes of hives. Or perhaps a new cologne?
Take 2 benadryll and if it persists see a doctor. You can also use a hydrocortison cream for the itching. If it spreads see a doctor as soon as possible.
If you begin to have trouble swallowing, tightness of the chest and or breathing difficulties or wheezing you may need to call an ambulance or have someone take you to the ER. If your eyes swell you should have someone take you to the ER.
It's important you try and discover what you came in contact with that set you off because each time you are exposed to the allergen your reaction will become more severe. Try switching to a detergent that has no dyes or perfumes, you may also want to stop using scented dryer sheets or scented fabric softner. You can also do an extra rinse cycle. Never wear new clothes without washing first as they sometimes have chemicals or allergens that need to be rinsed out.

If you are having trouble breathing or feel dizzy, you should go to the emergency room.
My daughter has been getting hives for no reason at all this summer -- we think it's related to stress. DON'T use cold water on them. Put on a warm, relaxing compress, and do some deep breathing. Anti-histamines also work wonders, but you don't want to use them too often.
If the hives are still getting worse, or you feel bad, you should see a doctor.

This can be caused by all kinds of things...
first put on some type of cortizone or caladryl cream to relieve the itching on the surface... then take 2 benadryl. This will help a lot. Hives are awful i get them too and I totally feel for you.

Take benadryl and use calamine lotion.
You are having an allergic reaction and possibly need to see a doctor if your throat starts to swell and it's hard for you to breathe.
