Burns of any kind damage the skin (and nerve endings and muscle tissue if they go deep enough), in many cases permanently. Sunburn for all it's pain (and the obvious side effects such as skin cancer) is relatively minor - most over the counter lotions such solarcaine, calamine lotion or any others recommended for sunburn (you can always ask a pharmacist) will help. An oatmeal or Aveeno bath when the peeling starts (and it will) will help with the itch. As for the sunburn on the eyes - technically it is possible if you stared into the sun (it is a radiation burn same as from arc welding or snow blindness) which you treat with rinsing the eyes with cool (preferably sterile) water to help sooth. You may also find that cool moist pads on your eyes while you rest them will help with the discomfort. More likely than not you actually burned your eyelids so the covering your eyes with the cool cloth or pad would be your best best. Good luck and A - get a better sunscreen and B - wear a hat!

Sunburn in November! Well, if you have fair skin it does really hurt. Sunburn can be so bad that it never leaves your skin without permanent damage. Benzocaine products can help with the pain. I have never heard of eyeballs getting dammaged, but I can imagine why you are considering that. Stay out of the Sun!

it is painful, I don't think my eyeballs get sunburned. If I get sunburned there is reddening like 1st degree burn and an example. If it a mild burn it will heal otherwise put cold water on it. Sunburns may damage your skin and open the risk for skin cancer.
If you are worried if its a bad sunburn see your doctor. When I get sunburned its a burn first then a tan.

sunburn causes redness and hurts to touch and in some cases the damaged skin peels off, No your eyeballs can't get sunburnt, The only way of curing it is preventing it in the first place but aloe vera gel can ease the pain and remember for next time slip, slop, slap!

1. Literally COOL the skin with tepid bath
2. Apply Noxzema or pure camphor to cool and comfort
3. Don't bother with clothes at all if possible
4. Cook oatmeal and cool it in the refrigerator. Apply to the burned areas. Rinse off in the shower after it starts to dry
5. Aloe Vera helps the pain and to heal quickly
6. Aleeve (naproxyn sodium) or ibuprofen started soon helps.
7. Stay completely out of the sun
8. If your burn has bubbles, see a doc.

rubbing alcohol all over yeah crazy but i have very pale skin and went on vacation with friend and got really burnt my blisters had blisters and the older woman staying at the hotel said try using rubbing alcohol something about it taking the burn out of your body. So i did and the burn actually started to feel better then i would put very thin clothing on take a couple sleep aids and fell asleep with a fan blowing medium speed to keep me cool. next day back at the beach but got a very strong sunblock.
hope you feel better and maybe you should get a different sunblock also

Sunburn can be treated using a simple lotion of Calamine. The eyes may get a wee bit inflamed and red but it doesnt really get 'sun burn'.
