You can rub Bag Balm or Vaseline on her pads. This will soften them but make sure she doesn't try to lick it off.

Is your dog an outdoor dog? Just think of the rough pads as a callouse. As long as they are not cracked or bleeding, I would say leave them be. Teach her not to use her paws on you. Use a firm OW when she starts to use them and then make her sit or do something else. That way, she will associate OW with you not wanting her to do it and will do something else. Dogs learn by consistancy and repetition. Whatever you decide, stick with it and you will have the results you work for.

my dog has super rough paws too.sometimes i use bag balm on them...it comes in a small or large square green can...sometimes walmart has it. or you can get it at feed stores. i like corona much better though. it's a bit more expensive. it's usually used on horses and other livestock. it's got a high % of lanolin in it. i even use it on my own skin. it great. if your dog goes outside a lot, use it on the paws at night so i can soften them while they're asleep. it's greasy, so dirt and other debris will stick to the paws. good luck with this.

Have you tried bag balm? You can find it at the pet section of most big stores like Wal-Mart. It comes in a green tin. It's like vaseline for animals.

walking your dog on concrete helps keep there paw pads soft, you could, if your dog would let you take a sanding pad [a soft one] to his feet, if you cant get out as much as your pet needs!
