What she got was a summons to appear in court. If she is formally charged by the prosecuting attorney, she may be found guilty or plead guilty. If this happens she will have a criminal record that is available to the public. If the charge is dropped, she is found not guilty, or she pleads to a different charge than stealing, she would still be on record as having been arrested, but the action of the court (found not guilty, etc) would be on record as well. Records can be expunged if a person petitions for expungement (erasing the record). She should contact an attorney.

Yes.
Today criminal records are very precise. In fact many people do not know this, but even charges that are dismissed by the court still remain on your record unless you have them expunged. Of course it shows that they were dismissed or that you were found not guilty, but sometimes even the accusation is enough to cost you a job.
I recommend that everyone get a copy of their criminal record and have any dismissed charges expunged.

Yes it will be on her record. There is a possibility that the charge will be "nolled" which is basically thrown out but that still shows up on the record when we print out a RAP sheet on someone

I don't think it is a ticket but it's likely a citation which I assume would be put on a criminal record.

Everything goes on your record. Any time your name is mentioned in any kind of police report it will show in a background check.
