How can I convert Hi8 video tape to digital media?

I have a bunch of Hi8 tapes that I would like to get o a video CD or a DVD. What is the easiest way to do this?

Many Sony Digital 8 cameras will play analog Hi* tapes and output them digitally. The video can then be imported into iMovie or other editing program for editing and final output.
