Yes, permanent straightening is very harmful and damaging for your hair. But it provides an "excellent result" in straightening. For example, REBONDING is a very successful method for straightening hairs. It's very popular in Asia countries and it has still remained its popluarity. It started from Japan and Korea 1st. Many ladies still do rebonding now because it makes your hair so straight and silky and with shine. It may looked extremely healthy on the outside, but inner hair shafts & roots have already been deeply damaged. Normally, a good hairstylist can do an excellent rebonding that lasts 3 - 6 mths, however it also depends very much of the quality of the hair on individual person. They're several types of rebonding like Spa rebonding, Soft rebonding & Ice rebonding etc. They're almost the same. But do remember if you ever want to do rebonding, pls ONLY visit better hair salons, coz they really use better quality rebonding cream and with better hairstylists that do a wonderful job for you. Cheap salons and hairstylists will charge you cheap but the results are like s_hit! I've been 3x to cheap salons before, instead of doing a proper job, they made my hair looked worse. Pls don't do straightening, do Rebonding as it's the BEST, although both of the methods are equally as harmful for your hair.

Chemical relaxers do damage the hair shaft, but is the better choice than using heat appliances on a daily basis. Just be sure to take extra care with deep conditioning twice a week. Also, relax the virgin hair only when doing 6 week touch ups.

If u live in new york the place is called hair village or something like that... its cheap too! not 3000 dollars like these other places.... it was only $200

You mean a straight perm?
It can last 1 - 3 months, it damages the hair just like bleaching, styling, and all that other jazz.

if the straightening is thermal done , no , it will not harm the hair , but if u are going to use relaxer , it is very known that hair relaxer changes the structure of the hair because it contain sodium hydroxide ,but u can keep your hair healthy after using relaxer by conditioning , taking hair vitamins and hot oil bath for the hair.

It could damadge your hair ALOT! I recemend no longer doing it becuz thick wavy hair is super (thats what i have) and guys find it irresistible higher than straight. Also straitning it Permenetly, well you ccant say "i hate this i kinda wanna have curls today like i take advantage of to" becuz its permenent and you'll never get your waves and curls back. I would say dont do it.

it damages it just as much as a perm would...i say do it but u have to make sure u maintain it looking good by getting deep conditioning treatments as well as scalp therapies. i suggest going for the japanese one (i think its called the yuko system< its a little expencive tho) they leave your hair looking amazing and u only have to go about twice a year for touch ups depending on how curly your hair is...

permanent hair straightening does damage your hair like hot irons but remember these two things.
-permanent hair straightening will last longer and you wont have to hot iron as much
-your hair continues to grow, so it wont damage your hair forever. but that also means it wont be permanentely striaght forever.
