Newly single -- OK -divorced.

1. No one to yell at you when you get home late.
2 Don't have to pick up someone else's laundry.
3. Don't have to ask what they want for dinner.
4. Don't have to share the remote.
5. Don't have to buy them their favorites.
6. Don't have to explain yourself to anyone.
7. Don't have to fight for the blanket.
8. Won't run out of hot water.
9. Don't have to put up with a drunk obnoxious asshole.
and last, but not least...........

10. Freedom to do what you want (like chat on the 'puter all night) when you want, and how you want. Without getting accused of anything, by anyone.

You can cook what you want without considering someone else.
You can sing in the shower and no one will hear you (unless your neighbors are really close).
You can be a slob, and you only have yourself to answer to.
You can get to know who you really are.
You can decorate as you like.
You can go out and come back whenever without worrying someone else.
You usually only have one family's holiday function to worry about (your own!).
You have tons more time.
And you have fewer arguments.

All of that said, you can still do a lot of the things I listed while in a relationship. Those were just the first things that came to mind.

If you feel like you aren't free in your relationship, get out. Relationships are NOT prison. If you allow yourself to be "trapped" in one, that's your own fault.

The best relationships are the ones that you can do almost everything you could when you were single.

I know that doesn't answer your question, but just enjoy being single if it's your current state. Make the most of your situation.

3. You dont have a man who thinks he knows how to fix the TV, only costing you more when a real repair man has to fix his mistakes.
4. You know that there is 30 different shades of black and those black shoes will not go with that black dress.
5. You have full control of the remote control for the TV

I love being single! I went with my sis and her husband this weekend, he drove, I said,"Hey let's stop for coffee". He said "No, I don't want to stop, and I don't want any coffee". That says it all. I stop for coffee anytime I want. No one can ever tell me what to do, or how to do it. that's 2. then you never have to worry about money issues. you either have it or you don't. no worries about someone else spending your money, or having to depend on a husband for money. It's cheap at Christmas. You can choose to date or not. You can cook dinner or not no one cares. No need to shave your legs. No arguing, who's gonna yell back, the cat? Total freedom. Freedom to do as you please. Go where you want, watch TV the way you want, clean the house or not, decorate the way you want. I can go on and on. There a some drawbacks too. I am totally responsible for every penny of the cost of living. No one to warm up the car in the winter. No one to help carry in the groceries. No sex. (but I keep an ex for that!)
