YES!!! I have found the best thing, and it's not a drug or a supplement. Get some of those knee-length sock-thingies. Darn, I can't remember what they're called, but they give your legs a nice squeeze and you can buy them at pharmacies, and the health and beauty areas of department stores. They're for circulation. Pull them on when your legs feel restless and leave them on overnight. They quiet my legs right down!

1. Gently massage your legs, especially the calves. Use linament if you like. (Biofreeze is a good option.) Professional Massage therapy is even better.
2. Take a warm bath. If you have one, try a whirlpool bath.
3. Take a mild pain reliever in the evening when the sensations first set in.
4. Try some moderate exercise earlier in the day. don't overdo. Strenuous exercise may aggravate the problem.
5. Avoid alcohol. Not only does it sometimes aggravate the restless legs, it also causes fragmented sleep.
6. Avoid caffeine. It can keep you awake and make your misery all the worse.
7. Nicotine is a stimulant and can worsen your problem as well as keep you awake.
8. Taking a multi vitamin/mineral supplement is sometimes helpful. Calcium and magnesium are often depleted in those sufffering with RLS
9. Cold compresses often alleviate the crawly sensation.
10. Talk to your doctor about medications. Something you are taking may be aggravating or even causing the syndrome.
12. If all else fails, try walking away the misery.

Their is a product called restless legs. It has quinine in it which help a lot of people with restless leg syndrome. You can find it at Walgreen's in the pain reliever section.

I suffer from this problem as well and what works for me is stretching my legs really hard while massaging them. I do this for about 5 or 10 minutes then lay down with legs raised over a pillow. Sometimes I use a back brush and scratch the legs gently to create circulation.

My mother and I both have RLS. The only 'home remedy' that works for me is to sit in a hot bath for a while. What works for my mother is this stuff called Absorbine jr. If you're not familiar with it, it's like a green liquid in a glass bottle. On top under the cap is a spongy applicator. You can get it at most drug stores. Just rub it on. Good luck.

I find that getting my legs up in the air helps a lot.

You could try lying down on the floor with your butt close to a wall. Put your legs straight up in the air and then let your heels rest against the wall. Relax. It's quite comfy to read a book in this position and it does seem to give relief.

Seriously don't eat or drink anything with sugar or caffine. The prescription medicine to stop RLS is just a caffeine and sugar suppressant.
