If someone is writing it themselves, I may read it if it's not toooo long. What I hate are "cut-and-paste's". Even with credit given to the author, it can still be a copyright infringement if the length of the essay is beyond "fair use". Copying large portions of someone else's words without asking permission is rude at best.
I prefer to give a link and a description of the site that way a person will see the information in context (if they choose to visit the link). Like others, I may give a thumbs down to an answer that is a cut-and-paste just to save space.
From all of the responses you've received, it's obvious that it's NOT just you finding this annoying!

It annoys me plenty, I check out to not come right here and skim the solutions and questions approximately WWE given that it does get relatively stressful once they whinge approximately the tale traces or approximately who has the belt (a large annoyance for me) I had been announcing in such a lot of my solutions to the Kane questions about right here, do not assume matters and you will not be disenchanted. I did not wish Kane's masks to be within the bag given that that's what everybody proposal, I was once hoping that it was once anything else. I check out not to placed an excessive amount of proposal into tale traces like this given that I love to be amazed because the storyline is unfolding, that is wherein plenty of the audience screw up. WWE's tale traces might be giant if the audience were not consistently looking to come to a decision what or wherein the tale traces have been heading after which inform everybody that there concept is correct, "Its gonna occur like this" Just sit down again and watch

Bravo, bravo and bravo! One of the single most annoying things on YA is the tiresome screens of the cut and paste artist! Doesn't matter whether it is bible verses, song lyrics or a term paper on the subject of the question. Keep it to a paragraph or two (the shorter and more concise, the better!) or be kind to the other readers by at least using a link instead of filling the screen with someone else's words! Hear, hear!
Rock on, dude!

Well there are many people who think that "God's Word" is only in the Bible. This idea comes from way back when many people only owned one book and looked for answers in that book and drew comfort from only that book. So they continue to brainwash their sons and daughters into thinking that there is only one true source for information about life and so they quote it incessantly. We need to bear with these people and show them antithesises to their passages sometimes, especially the passages they use to prove so called eternal damnation and spiritual terroristic ones like that. We need to wrestle with them because some of their programming is very dangerous when mixed with other childhood abuses or with disenchantment about life in general. They have high potential to become our future terrorists. It is not their fault. They were brainwashed that way. Takes a lot of time and effort to reduce their poor learned behavior to rubble and replace it with a real passion for love of life. Good luck in your adventure.

Yes I agree. It's like listening to a long boring lecture, soon your eyes glaze over and your mind is somewhere else. Half the time they arent even answering the question you asked in the first place.

most of them are cut and paste form the internet (usually wikipedia)
however if the person takes the time to write something out and they are giving good information i will read it.
i agree that many of the scripture quotes i simply skip because they are usually the "bible said so" answers.

Yes, they don't need to type out the whole script. Just putting the book name, chapter and verse numbers is enough, as most Christians who want to look it up have a Bible in front of them to do this as I do.

I totally agree. I wonder why are they doing that? to show off they know the Bible? what is the reason? A lot of those verses do not even have any pertinance with the question. It is very annoying and noone is reading it, if we want to read that we can go and open the bible and read it ourselves. i JUST DO NOT GET IT.

Is it long answers that you have a problem with, or long answers filled with Biblical quotes.
I have a tendency to write longer answers, not to be annoying, but just to try and communicate my thoughts. However, I also try not to use tons of scripture, especially with people who aren't Christian, as nine times out of ten it is not only not helpful, but actually harmful in communication efforts.
Having been a wiccan for a short time, it seemed to me like people who post tons of scriptures in their responses to non-Christians comments are cowarding out, they are avoiding the more difficult task of inter-faith communication by throwing out comforting (to them) scriptures.
i admit, that I'm not always great at interfaith conversation. Sometimes I misinterpret. Sometimes I snap and then regret it. But I do always try to meet people where they are at.
