Sounds like your cat has tapeworms. If they are small and look like rice, they are segments of tapeworms; the segments are full of eggs. They are picked up by eating fleas and rodents that are hosts and only show up in outdoor cats or environments with fleas...otherwise they cannot be spread. Generally they skeeve out the owner and do little damage to the cat.

Dewormers bought over the counter do not kill tapeworms; you have to visit the vet and get pills. Cestex is a one dose dewormer that causes the worm to dislodge and get digested.

Then, if your home or cats have fleas, you have to get rid of them or the cats will get them again.

i replaced into informed by my vet that that is a organic instinct for a canines, besides the undeniable fact that by that similar token I even ought to board off the realm the position my muddle boxes are so the canines do not get in there to make a large number, yet mutually the cats can nonetheless hop over the board of timber that I have positioned in the front of the door, the canines cant. I recommend you come across a thanks to give up this behaviour as now and again cats have worms and they are undetected for awhile, so de-malicious software both your cats and canines on a reg foundation to be probability-free.

You HAVE to take him to the vet. That will be the only effective and safe way to get rid of the worms. If it does not get treated, the worms can make him very very sick, if not kill him. Take him in ASAP. By the way, does he have fleas too? Fleas carry tapeworm eggs, that may be where he got them. You will have to treat the fleas too. Please do not attempt any over-the-counter method for either of these treatments.

Also, make sure to feed him cat food. Fish treats are fine, but he needs the balanced nutrition from high-quality cat food.

GET HIM TO THE VET!! He needs to be treated immediately! Once it has gotten to that point, home medications won't help. You should be giving him a worm preventative to prevent this in the future. Good luck!

He obviously has a worm infestation and you should get him to a vet as soon as you can. It could kill him. He could have got worms from any number of things and that's why you should have your cats de-wormed regularly.

Yep, to the vet with both kitties. You will need to clean out the litter pans well while they are deworming so they don't re-infect themselves as well.

BOTH your cats need to go to a vet AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This is not something that can be home treated. If they share living quarters, both are probably infested- one just may not be showing signs.

You can get deworming tablets from the vet, they are not expensive and you only need one. Animals need to be dewormed yearly. Dont worry just get the tablet and mix it with his fish. Good luck

I have to agree - get him to a Vet. You'll get both treatment, and advice on prevention for the future. To be safe, you might want to take his brother along for a check-up too...
