The apostles were the first Bishops. 12 is a very important number because it represents the 12 tribes of Israel which Jesus said the 12 apostles will judge at the 2nd coming of Jesus.

If only 1 of the 12 Apostles had been a female, then the Pope would not have any problem with having female priests. But, guess what? Jesus (God Himself) only chose men for the appointment. The women were followers, but they were not the same as the apostles.

If someone resorts to name calling it will only show immaturity and that they don't have anything rational to say.

That is correct. If Jesus had wanted priestesses in His Church, there were plenty of holy women available to choose from. What about His own mother, the one God addressed as "full of grace"? Chosing 12 men out of 12 is a pretty strong statement that He intended His priests to be men. That is understandable when you consider that the function of a priest is to stand in the place of Christ Himself, an "alter Christi", and having the Person of Christ represented by a woman would surely be a confusing point of theology. And that is why the Church has declared as binding doctrinal truth that it does not have the authority to ordain women.

May I remind you that the first person commission by the Lord to go tell(preach) the resurrection to Peter and the disciples was a female(Mary). If the Roman Catholic Church wants only men to be priests that's fine with me. But I have no problem with females Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists, Prophets, or Apostles. Although I haven't seen any women pastors in the Bible.

Although I agree with you, I'm just too lazy to argue. I will point out, however, that every single one of them was married, except John. Alot of the popes were married too, up to about the 800-900's or so. I say let the men be priests, and keep pure, as pure as they can. At one time, men sat on one side of the church and women on the other. This went on up to the beginning of the 1900's and maybe longer. Also note that there was a big arguement in the church around 300-400 AD about whether or not women had souls, so...yeah. There are good things and bad things. Let's have peace, eh?

First it was not safe for women to travel alone in those times or without their male relatives. Only prostitutes did that. It was the culture of the time.

As to why the RC priest are male. The main reason there are only male priest in the RC church is because they feel that only a man can represent Jesus at the altar. When the priest is at the altar it is believed that Jesus is present in the priest in a special way called 'persona Christi'. This means that at the moment of the consecration of the elements it is Jesus that is present. And the RC church doesn't think that Jesus can be present in the body of a female.

But my Church doesn't agree with this and we do have women priest and bishops too.

wrong on all counts. there were a numbe of FEMALE apostles which are not mentioned, but whose status was above that of the men. one such was mary, jc mother, and mary of magdala, who may have been his closest companion. the number twelve did not represent the twelve tribes, but a particular occult meaning for completeness. remember, judas was the bad disciple and wasn't representative of any tribe.the apaostles will not judge anyone since it is god who will judge and will do so from the book of life and death which the lamb (jc) will open at the end of days.there are no female priests because the pope and cardinals felt threatend by the power that was being accumulated by a number of women who ran, and operated convents. these women performed mass, weddings, gave sermons, and performed all the duties the priests did. this went on for several hundred years. also, some of the early cvhurch leaders were women of great wealth and influence, even being named bishops of some eastern asia minor churches. if you read the history of the catholic church, you would learn all this, but since you have not, then you stand corrected. next time you ask a question, don't assume you know the answer. learn the answer. feel free to learn more than you might expect, as well.

Jesus never made any distinction between the sexes. He healed men and women and treated them all equally. We are all children of God regardless of if we have a penis. Why would God stop anyone, male of female from preaching his word? Isn't that the whole point of being on Earth? To spread the word to everyone? I dont think God is sitting there saying oh she's going to hell because she is telling people to love their neighbors as themselves and she doesnt have a penis! God gave women a brain for a reason. It wasn't God that said that women couldn't be priests, it was Jewish tradition, and human beings. God created the sexes, why would he exclude more than 50% of the population from teaching his word? Women are called to the priesthood as equally as men. Who are u to deny someone who is called based on their genitalia? Human beings are not God, and if u are gonna say that women arent meant to be priests because the 12 disciples werent, then that means that the only people truly illegible to be priests are jewish, brownskinned males who used to be fishermen. So sorry all of you old white catholic priests, you fall in the category of those banned from the priesthood just like the women.

God loves men and women equally, but women are not given the job of teaching within the church. However, there were women prophets in the Old Testament, and female disciples and women will go to heaven the same as men.

your wrong the Maglene was an apostle not only do her own writings prove this but also that of other writings which previous popes choose to exclude from the new testament because they elevated women to an equal or higher role in religion, please do some research before posting ignorant satements,

As much as I hate to be the bringer of bad news God doesn't differentiate between a persons value or ability based on sex. And your viewpoint and that of the Roman Catholic Church is the sole reason women were relegated to second class citizens for thousands of years , other femine aspects of God have also been removed from Genesis and other books of the Torah in order to manipulate people like yourself to think the way that you are

One of the apostles was female. The Catholic Church changed alot of facts in the bible to suit their needs. The feminine aspect has been totally subdued. Cut & Snipped! This is why you use your own connection to God and not any one printed source for all your inspiration. Church and State were one when the bible was written, and the bible was used to instill fear in people so that they would have to support the church. They would go to church becuause they were brainwashed into thinking that the church was the only place they can avoid going to hell, another invention of the church. There is no hell. God is both male and female. There has been documentation from that time period that has been uncovered and restored that peieces the bible back together in it's entirety. It's up to you to read the many versions, and the research about the bible. You have to be the one to use your intuition to know what is truth and what is not. What feels right to you? The reason you are even putting this question out here is bececaus you are finding flaws in their stories! You are on the right track!

The John Jay file - mainly the one complete file at the pedophilia scandal within the Catholic Church - steered related premiums TO THE RATE OF ABUSE BY MEN IN GENERAL. Bear in brain, within the populace at gigantic, guys are 4 to 10 instances much more likely to perpetrate little one sexual abuse than ladies. As such, we will have to count on the cost amongst an all-male institution to be very similar to the cost amongst MEN, now not some of the populace most commonly. I will have to notice that the file are not able to thoroughly deal with the query on the grounds that it tested authorized court cases - quantity of monks accused, quantity charged, quantity taken to trial, quantity convicted. I'd believe it might be the equal amongst male coaches as good.
