Well, he's demonstrating his jealosy and displeasure. You have to somehow make him know that the other dog is no threat to him. Make sure you show him plenty of affection and don't neglect him and in time, he'll grow out of this.

Your older dog is more then likely marking his/her territory. The dog has resorted to this becuase he/she smells the urine from where the puppy has perviously pottied. When any dog goes to the bathroom in the house you need to clean up with something that will remove the smell. If it's on carpet use a carpet cleaner specifically designed for pet stains. If it's on hardwood, lanoliem (sp), tile, concrete, etc, I use bleach. When you use bleach or carpet cleaner, make sure you wipe it up well and don't let the dogs by the area until the area has completely dried.

Another thing to remember is you can't punish or yell at the older dog unless you actually catch him/her in the act of eliminating in the house. Also, go back to the basics with him/her and reward him/her just as you are the puppy every time they eliminate outside.

Good luck!

My dog did exactly the same thing when we got a new puppy. Your dog is more then likely marking his/her terriority, letting the new pup know that your house is his stomping grounds. I bought a crate and started crate training the both of them. At night put the both of them in the crate so no one gets up in the middle of the night and does their business in the house. Then set your alarm for a few hours later then get up and and let them both out to do their business. If one goes give them a treat right after. My older dog usually will go in the morning, but my puppy usually goes everytime I take him out. Dogs hate peeing in their bed, so they will avoid going in the crate, but it can be tricky because your pup maynot be able to hold it in. So make sure you take him out more often. I've been doing this for about 2 weeks (it sucks getting up in the dark and cold) but it has greatly paying off. I hope I could help you!! I feel ya though!! GOOD LUCK!!

start showing the older dog more attention as its clear it is doing this out of spite for feelings of being replaced by a puppy.
