Take the yams out of the can, drain them quite well, then blend them until they are smooth, as if mashed potatoes. Place your mixture into an empty pie crust (you can buy the crust at the store), put a layer of butter onto the mixture, then sprinkle a layer of brown sugar upon that, then top it with miniature marshmallows, place into a 450* preheated oven until the marshmallows are melted, then turn on the broiler to darken the marshmallows.
It's quite lovely.

Candied Yams

1 can yams OR 4 Fresh yams
1/4 cup butter
1/2 bag miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup Orange juice
1/4 cup Brown sugar

PREPARATION:
Drain yams and discard liquid. Arrange in baking dish. Pour orange juice over yams. Sprinkle liberally with brown sugar. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with marshmallows, if desired.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees or in any oven temperature (for example, along with the turkey) until marshmallows melt and liquid is bubbly.

Serves 6.

Put them in a casserole dish (empty the can Juice and all) Put some marshmallows over all of the yams (Little ones work great) and bake at 350 for 45 min or until marshmallows turn light golden brow.

2 (16 oz.) cans or 1 (29 oz.) can cut yams or Royal Prince
5 tbsp. butter
13 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 c. miniature marshmallows (optional)

Stove top directions. Pour sweet potatoes and liquid into 2 quart sauce pan. Cook until are heated through. Drain liquid and set aside. While sweet potatoes are heating combine butter and brown sugar in 1 quart sauce pan and cook until hot, but not boiling. Add nuts to sauce if desired and pour over hot sweet potatoes. Stir just to coat. Serve immediately.

I prefer the nuts not the marshmellow's

Amy,

Put the yams in a baking dish and bake them.

Well now that we have that covered; if you want to make an impact then do something special.

Yams are boring. Yes you are required to do it but use your imagination. Bring a great desert. Bring the ingedients for a cool and fun blender drink. Do something different. And enjoy those yams.

then you top with tiny marshmallows and put in the over at about 350 for about 20 or 25 minutes. YUMMY
