Yes I converted from Christianity to Paganism (I am using this as a blanket term not as the name of my religion), and I have herd this line more than once, and not just to my question, but also as an answer to other questions: "There is hope for you. You can be saved. Jesus died for your sins." or something to that effect. Why answer a question that is TOTALY not asking about that with kind of a statment? It just kind of eritates the asker and those who are genuinely trying to answer the question.

Slave to JC, I am not angry with my faith, and my avitar is smiling; it is not gimacing. I will not convert to Christianity unless *I* feel it is right, and as far as can see it is not right for *me*. Why? Because I am not a mindless drone; I have brian, and I choose to use it. By this I mean, I will think for *myself* and I will not let some 2000 year old miss translated religious manuscript to think for me, or tell me how I should think. That is the greatest injustice to the being that created us all in my opinion.

I feel you totally, as I also converted from Christianity to Paganism. I don't think that would ever work--if anything, it would further push people away. I know that's what it does to me.

Since you have converted from christianity to another religion, you already know why these people are saying these things. But, considering your spelling ability; you're either very young or do not possess the skills to use the spell-check of your computer. So my confidence in your decision is a little sketchy right now. What I don't understand is the fact that is bothers unbelievers so much. If the christian faith is so ridiculous, why not laugh at these people, tell them to go fly a kite and get on with you pagan life?

1. Because they think they are wiser than you
2. Because they think they have a corner on the truth
3. Because they think they can guilt you into thinking like them
4. Because they are arrogant
5. Because they think you must not have *really* looked at christianity or you'd not have rejected it.
6. Because the fact that you were once a christian and rejected it creeps them out that they might be wrong
7. Because they can be superior
8. Because "You can be saved and think like me" makes them feel better than saying "you might have a point. Let me rethink my point-of-view."
9. Because most of them will NEVER seriously consider rethinking their point-of-view
10. Because what your question is doesn't matter when THEY HAVE AN AGENDA!
11. Because what else is this bible for but bashing your brain with
12. Because they are always right and you are always wrong (according to them)

They honestly believe you are wrong and they are right. They think you will ultimately parish because of your belief but I'm here to tell ya no one loving god would not stand up for us all in the end when our judgement comes.
Love yourself and your beliefs and allow others to do the same. Remember we are all just human.

If you used to be a Christian, maybe you heard they tried to spread the word. But you know the Hari Krishnas may also try to convert you to chanting. Lots of people try to convert others.
Perhaps you should chant a hundred Haris to drown out the irritating noise.
Hari Krishna, Hari Krishna , Krishna Krishna Hari Hari, Hari Rama Hari Rama, Rama Rama, Hari Hari
here-you try it!

They are trying to save your soul because they feel it is their duty to God. We are all interconnected. Even the government recognizes this by making suicide illegal. One life and one soul is important to all. I've never try and push religion down any ones throat. It just pushes them against you. So I'm the one of the answerer's who do that.
