Despite peoples constant attempts to link them together that is actually two separate and distinct issues. As a retired military man, from a family of military men, who has daughter on active duty, of course I wholeheartedly support our troops. They are the best and bravest we have. As a patriotic U.S. citizen with a duty to oppose our elected officials when I believe them wrong, I equally wholehearted opposed the war. We invaded the wrong country, Bush lied to the voters, and having put our troops in harms way, he gave them no clear objectives and no mission to accomplish, which, in turn, left us no way back out. It's the same thing we did in Korea and Viet Nam. The purpose of the military is to destroy the enemies ability to wage war. We haven't done that, and, with the forces on the ground, we can't even hope to do that. For all the good as our troops are doing, and it's a lot, we are never going to create a stable, democratic, pro-U.S. Iraq by force. People don't seem to understand that the people we call insurgents see themselves as Freedom Fighters, trying to rid their country of a foreign invader. If there was an occupying foreign army in the U.S. I wouldn't stop fighting, would you? The Nation of Iraq has no actual cultural identity, it was created by European colonial powers as part of an effort to get control of the oil supplies. The Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiites do not consider themselves to be one people, attempting to make them act as if they are, and by force, has only resulted in their killing our people instead of each other. Yes, the Iraqis should assume control, it's their land after all, but we can't preach self government to them, and then turn around and insist that their government take orders from us. Only when we recognize that they are a sovereign people in their own right, with their own cultures and histories, and learn to treat them with the respect those rightfully deserve, will any kind of peacefull solution be possible.

I just thought some people needed to be reminded of this:

For all the people who still protest, you're welcome,
We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
But who will fight for you?

We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying the guns.
We are the ones that will leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.

We are the ones who fight and die.
We might not be able to save the world, well atleast we try.
We walk the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.

So when you rally up your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly,
wars must be fought and young men must die.

We came here to fight for the ones we love dear,
if that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling and put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.

When the conflict is over and well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.

I support our troops 110%. I hope one day I too become one of the 30 million lives who have served and defended our country.

I am a soldier in the Army. I support the troops there by being in the Army, and wearing my uniform with pride. I don't know how I feel about the wars.

I don't necessarily agree with the wars, and what they stand for, but I support our troops 100%. The troops are what keep this country free.

I think everyone should support the men and women involved in this ridiculous war. They're just doing there job, it's not there fault if those in charge (Bushy) make stupid decisions!

Where will America's next quagmire be? Iran? North Korea? Australia? It's impossible to say with commander coocoo bananas in charge (Bushy), but one things for sure, there will always be brave, courageous Americans willing to fight in these fiascoes to serve they're country they love. We should always support them, no matter how dumb of decisions the government makes when deciding where they should send those heroes to do there job

I believe in 100 Percent Supporting our troops, but supporting a near dictator/oil profiteer is another thing.

If you don't think that lil' bush is a near dictator, I suggest that you actually inspect the "Patriot" Act, and consider his use of unjustified wire tapping on the general population.

If you think that he is not an oil profiteer, then consider that our Special Forces were within 3 miles of Bin Laden, and the Pentagon refused backup and told the squad to pull back.

however the query is what do people ever do to 'help' the troops. in simple terms asserting it out loud counts? or in simple terms putting those yellow thingies? To be straightforward i don't sense comfortable asserting something like that 'I help the troops' as quickly as I stress SUV and have not made any actual sacrifice in my existence sort. i do no longer hate our troops of direction. i'm going to probable tell people I help the troops, yet no longer war. yet what the hell does that mean? Yea all of us say it. yet actual maximum people rather do no longer do something to 'help' troops. If somebody yells 'I help the troops' and ask you in case you help the troops ASK them, 'what are you doing to help the troop as nicely yelling it?' Ask regulation makers to shelter troops, get them wellbeing care they like. Ask them to offer up abusing troops too. What they're doing is abusing our troops. they're using those volunteer military like they're some form of supermen. they are occurring third, 4th excursions with inadequate injury, no trip, no kinfolk time. The war is wrecking the protection stress and their kinfolk. i in my opinion do no longer see elementary methods to help the war and troops comparable time. i think of you will possibly could oppose the war this is hurting our troops huge time. and extremely unfairly. I in simple terms observed a video clip on McLaughlin team television tutor final night. This soldier in Iraq ranting approximately his 15 months prolonged excursion. He says he will pass on yet another 15 months for unfastened if Bush come out in the warmth and do it with him. He wasn't happy they save extending their excursion responsibilities. he's not on my own. The gov save telling them 'no you won't be able to pass homestead, you're able to stay.' you are able to purely push people so perplexing in the previous they only lose it. that's barely impossible to help the war in case you help the troops. The war is wrecking US troops' lives. It makes suited experience which you help the troops, yet no longer the war.

Ok first of all to all of you people who have no idea what its like over there get over yourselves and your opinions, We are not supported over there at all, we are the enemy to anyone who we look at wrong. Bush is over there finishing daddys bushes work. most people forgot we have done this before, there were never any weapons of mass destruction do u realize that is why we went over there? I hated being over there thank god im out. We are out of marines and army people. THey have already activated the reserves, and now the navy is building a base over there because 1 they are the only ones who can do it and not be crippled 2 marines are seriously dying by numbers, just because u dont see it on the news anymore doesnt mean people are not dying. it is worse than every i hope you all realize that, we got attacked by afghanistan so we spend a few weeks there looking for osama then give up? so bush then decides oh well look since we are over there lets finish daddys work people predicted this from the beginning. Let me tell you a story, there was a cia agent who went over there, and also there was expert in the field of uranium which if u have studied is supposed to be what sadam uses, they went over there to check things out after the bush administrations guys did. They found nothing that had to do with weapons of mass distruction, so the guy publishes a article about it. now his wife aka the cia agent that went over there too, just so happens to be a expert in the same field, and she went up to the bush administration and said it was true. then bushes people turned around after this had got out and said that she was a cia agent just for no reason.... over a hundred people got killed in other countries because people had seen this lady talking with people in there countries bush cost lives and that is all he is doing here. if you value your kids or your lives you will not re elect another bush ever again. especially one like this one who doesnt read or watch television. And trust me he doesnt.
