I think every young girl tonight is worried about breast cancer ?
If you feel a lump go by a Doctor and get it checked out
the odds that u have breast cancer is very slim unless you have a family history of cancer or breast cancer or if you had cancer as a child
most lumps your age are benign aka not cancerous
the lump u feel is in both breasts or one ? does it change position in the breast ? does it change when u stand up or lie down ?
GO GET IT CHECKED OUT FOR PIECE OF MIND !!!

Breast cancer does not know your age. It can be found even in men 10 years old. Most people find it themselves while in the shower. The trouble with pains and lumps at your age is they can be caused by puberty and growing.A breast is a gland and glands swell sometimes, around your period,or if you're sick.Even from the amount of liquid you drink.Mine get sore sometimes and I don't have cancer. My mother had 13 lumps removed and none were cancerous.Just lumps!! So go to a female doctor if you are more comfortable. All they do is go around in circles with a glove . I've had it done several times, painless, and then you will know for sure.People at risk get checked every six months. Piece of mind is worth a half hour appointment. I imagine the percentage for females your age are very small.

Although it is uncommon for young women to get breast ca,anything is possible. I was once told that if a lump hurts...chances are it is not cancer. The breast is a gland and is filled with many little sacs ready to produce milk when needed (baby time!) otherwise, the breast is a large organ that reacts and responds to hormonal stimulation. At different times of your menstrual cycle, you can experience tingling and lumps and even some strange pangs that might make you take more notice. The breast is reacting to progesterone, a normal and natural hormone in the female body. Lumps come and go and are often cyclic, remember too that there is also a muscle behind your breast that can hurt from over exertion like any other muscle. Any kind of discharge from the nipple and any other stationary lump that does not come and go, should be brought to the DR attention. Birth control pills DO NOT cause breast cancer, but because they are hormones, they can effect the way the breast feels to you!

Breast Cancer Symptoms
Early breast cancer has no symptoms. It is usually not painful.
Most breast cancer is discovered before symptoms are present, either by finding an abnormality on mammography or feeling a breast lump. A lump in the armpit or above the collarbone that does not go away may be a sign of cancer. Other possible symptoms are breast discharge, nipple inversion, or changes in the skin overlying the breast.
Most breast lumps are not cancerous. All breast lumps, however, need to be evaluated by a doctor.
Breast discharge is a common problem and is rarely a symptom of cancer. Discharge is most concerning if it is from only 1 breast or if it is bloody. In any case, all breast discharge should be evaluated.
Nipple inversion is a common variant of normal nipples, but nipple inversion that is a new development can be of concern.
Changes in the skin of the breast include redness, changes in texture, and puckering. These changes are usually caused by skin diseases but occasionally can be associated with breast cancer.
Experts estimate that over 193,000 new cases of female breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2001. About 1,500 breast cancers will be diagnosed in men during the year.
Age
At this time, age is a major identifiable risk factor. More than 80% of breast cancer cases occur in women over 50. The odds by age are as follows:
Cancer in women younger than 30 is very rare, accounting for only 1.5% of all breast cancer cases.
At age 40, a woman's chances for breast cancer are one in 217.
At age 50, they are one in 50.
If a woman lives to be 85, the odds of her having breast cancer are one in eight.

The lump which you felt could from what's familiar as an axillary tail (Tail of Spence), that's the nook area of the breast tissue that is going all the way up into the armpit. this is often incorrect from breast maximum cancers lumps. in any different case, even regardless of the undeniable fact that it is not impossible for a 13 year old to get breast maximum cancers, this is somewhat no longer likely. maximum cancers additionally leads to severe weightloss, nausea, and tiredness. The tiredness, problems, and dizziness you're experiencing could be from particularly some diverse issues. no remember if this is concerning you, or no remember if this is combating you from doing each and every day initiatives, time table an appointment with your wellbeing care expert. bear in mind that each little thing which you tell the wellbeing care expert keeps to be very own between you and them, and that they are sure with the help of regulation to maintain your privateness (to anybody, even your mom in case you so wish)

If you feel that way, go and get it checked. The doctor will hopefully show you the correct way to self-examine every couple of months. That way you get to know the feel of what is normal for your breasts to feel like. Change can occur in breast tissue when you ovulate, often giving a feeling of lumpiness and tenderness. Once you get the hang of it it only takes a few minutes to put your mind at ease - and no you're not paranoid, as for the percentage I think it's reasonably low for that age group. I credit you for your awareness, in Australia breast cancer is the leading cause of death in females.

FIRST off no question about your health should make you feel crazy, or stupid. Its not uncommon to have sharp pains shoot through your breast. It can be from hormones, caffeine or a number of different things. I take it since you are talking about getting your breasts checked you are not on birth control. When you go to the doctor to get a pap smear they check your breasts. You should go to your local health dept, or a gynecologist and speak w/them about it. They can talk to you about what feels normal and what to look for while doing a self examination.
P.S. just a suggestion, if you are sexually active or dating, you should look into birth control.

I understand your concern. However, I don't think you have anything to worry about, since the breasts thicken before your period. If a lump and pain stays through past a full cycle, then you should get it checked out.

Don;t be afraid to talk to your mother or doctor about ANY health concerns. Cancer (Hodgkins) took my friends life at 23. It was first found under the arm at 19. Not trying to scare you, but she died in 1991.
