$20 is pretty much a standard gift. Some people that you may be closer to may bump it up and some friends and family may give even more. For a coworker, It's more than enough.

Not at all, give what you can afford to give...and nothing more. If you feel "cheap" b/c of the obvious monetary value of the gift..shop around keeping in mind a $20 budget and purchase a gift that you think looks more expensive, or shop for deals., sales, sometimes you can grab a $50 purchase at 50% off...and you've just come a bit over your budget. But regardless..any gift you give is just that a gift...not required...and the bride and groom should be grateful for that. My brother got married last month, being laid off all I could afford was $20, so I shopped around, found a beautiful crystal vase that was a regular value of $75 for $25...if I couldnt find a gift I'd have given them $20..if they would have been offended...so be it..but it was all I could afford.

Not at all, especially if this is just an associate and not your friend; you really don't' have to buy anything. CHEAP would be just giving her a card, which is probably what I am going to give the female getting married at my job next month! LOL

Reality is, I do not really know her well, and anything from me is more of a token; if she were a longtime coworker or friend I would certainly do more. I think gifts in all arenas, have more to do with "relationship" than "protocol".

It depends. Are you attending the wedding? If so, just think about how much they are spending on you to attend (probably between 50 and 100 bucks). If not, $20 bucks is fine. I think maybe a gift card at a store they are registered at is more personal than just a bill, but that's your choice.

Are you talking about gift cards? That's too much for a co-worker. Are you and the co-worker friends? Has this co-worker spent $20 worth on you before?
I would spend $10 at least (if it's for a store, you will have to spend more than that if it's for a restaurant). Sometimes gift cards are not redeemed, so you don't want to put a lot on it either.

Is it for a work party, or are you actually attending the wedding and reception? It also depends on how long you have known the person and your budget, but $20 seems a little low for a gift card. I would say at least $50.

If I was going to give someone $20 as a gift I would give it as a gift card instead. To me that looks better. And yes that is enough. You could always ask other employees to chip in and then it will look even better knowing that everyone cares.

No a gift is a gift regardless of size. Even if you only gave $10.00 if several people gave the same amount a very nice gift could be gotten. We got so many small gift cards for Wal-mart that we were able to purchase lots of nice things for our home.

It all depends on where you work. You know that person enough to get them a gift. If you work at a place that does not pay all it ok. But if you make ok money you need more then twenty bucks. If you can't aford it try to buy a simple but nice gift was your money. A cheap gift is better then money.

it depends on so many things..... how close r u 2 the coworker? Are you going to the wedding? If so that is WAY too cheap. If its just someone u work with and aren't close to and your not invited. I would say 50.00 is ok.If your going to the wedding at least 100.00 to 150.00 if your going as a couple.
