Highest average incomes in Australia. Highest average level of education in Australia (I'm surrounded by PhDs). Best streets. Best water. Large country town atmosphere. Plenty of variety in yearly temperature. Freezing in winter, light snow once in a while, can be hot in summer. Good restaurants, good schools. Housing OK to good. Nowhere is more than about a 30 minute drive from anywhere else. Good place for real grown-ups.
Other than that it is a town like any other and I have lived in more than most. There is a relative lack of yobbos, chavs, bogans, westies, whatever you want to call them.
Whinges - and my response.
No surf - Tough. "Boring" for young people -Oh dear, how sad. never mind. Make your own fun. It isn't Melbourne - pity about that.

Well maintained city(roads and gardens), low crime rate, good bus service, drive time to work minimal and little or no slum areas. Mind you it can become boring for teenagers and those who do not have a good circle of friends or interests.
