1. Do not have any fear about mathematics.
2. Try to understand the question and think of methods for solving it. Try the method which appears most appropriate. Change the method if it leads to wall.
3. Consider the question as most important enemy which you have to conquer at every cost, all other things being sundry. Let it be like Arjun's proverbial eye.
Condition Your mind so that it thinks of nothing other than solution for the question.
4. Search questions which are considered tough and solve them.
5. Have confidence that if someone can solve it why that person should not be you.
6. Practice makes man perfact. So solve every question which comes your way. Be after questions. Proverbally, you should not fear maths, let maths fear you.
7. Your attitude and confidence to be winner and expert mathematician.

You're either gifted with it or you aren't. Working and practicing can allow you to grasp patterns and rules, but in the end, your mathematic ability is determines largely by brain chemistry- whether you're a "problem solver" like an engineer or doctor, or a more literary and interpersonal mind, like lawyers, teachers, etc.

Try to learn the basic scales of mathematics, like simultaneous equations, identities, calculus, different types of equation like quadratic, cubic and aso on learn their curves see how they fit into the relms of mathematics. Think about them and their connection to physical phenomenon and activities and go from there.
