I'm 24, female, often in the evenings feel swelling, tingling and tightness in my feet, ankles and legs. I'm not over-weight, not pregnant, not meds except Celexa, blood pressure has always been normal. What could be the causes of this?

take your finger and press on your leg and if the print stays there u are retaining water, all u need to do is put your feet up above your heart level and the swelling will go down, or have a doctor prescribe u water pills. mine does this to me all the time , i have been dealing with it for about 10 yrs now

Go to your doctor and get advise them of your edema. If they can't find your problem, stop your celexa and see if the situation improves. I think I had swollen feet while on Celexa, but I worked in a steel foundry and it could have been heat edema. I switched to Lexapro and didn't seem to have problems with that one. But, I would still get your heart and kidneys checked and all the rest. Better to be safe.

Do you work at a desk? This can cause swelling, as your feet are down all day, and the bend of the knee where you sit can cut off circulation to the feet, and cause tingling and swelling.

Try putting a foot stool under your desk, and elevate your feet. I use my laptop case under my desk!

You need to see a doctor ASAP. Edema of the extremeties is always a sign that something is not right. It may be something very minor or it could be as serious as a kidney or heart problem that has been undetected till now.

Call your doctor and let her know what's going on - get in and get a thorough check up.

Poor circulation which can be caused for a variety of reasons. Have you been checked for diabetes and for kidney functions? Do you walk for exercise because I think that would help? It could be water build up from too much salt. Regardless, if this continues, you should see a doctor.
