She doesn't have fleas. We recently gave her a bath. Are shampoo allergies possible?

Yes, both of those could be your problem. Was it a new shampoo? Did she get rinsed enough?

Give her tail (or all of her), a bath in some oatmeal shampoo for dogs and rinse the tail very thoroughly. You can apply some mild lotion. There is also medicated spray you can get at a pet store for itching that contains hydrocortisone in it. That would be a good product to try.

It could be some type of allergies. Could be hot spots. Only way to know for sure is have the vet check your dog if it does not get better.

If you used dog shampoo likley if you used human shampoo MORE likley...dogs have their own shampoo because the skin is sesitive....our shampoo has harsh stuff in it that is not designed for a dogs sesitive skin.....I would call the vet and ask......
