To maintain your weight is the easiest thing, I don't know what tlctreecare is talking about. I weigh 100lbs now and I eat what I want when I want to, and the more I work out the more I lose weight and the more I have to eat, all because the muscles are hungry. The worst thing one could do is not to eat. At one time I had to eat five times a day to keep up with my weight, 105lbs then, now that I don't work out as much I eat three times a day. And I don't eat at McDonalds and co., never liked that stuff and I don't sit and eat chips all night either.
So if you want to be a jockey and eat what you want then you have to start with a maximum weight of 105lbs and at least from there it won't matter if you gain a few pounds. But if you start at 115lbs, then like Laffitt Pincay Jr. , you will have to watch what you eat all the time. So the lesser the better right now.

Well I'm a jockey,it really depends on what weight the horse gets, the jockey has to make that weight.Jumps jockeys carry more weight than the flat race's.With my weight,I'm usually around 54kgs on race day.I eat a healthy diet all the time, grilled chicken or fish with salads, and heaps of water.I also take vitamins.

If a jockey wants to ride with any sort of regularity, they have to be 55kg or less. There are heavy weight jockeys but the number of rides they get is limited. The lighter the weight, the more options you have. I guess they maintain their weight with diet and exercise and lots of saunas.

Most jockeys are not over about 117 -120 pounds and that is dressed with their saddle in hand.
They eat lightly and most will sit in a sweat box to drop water weight before they race. Many will eat and then vomit up the food to keep weight down. Much like Bulemia. It can have disasterous side effects on the body and is not healthly.
