Tell the guy not to be an a$$hole but to instead be a civil human being and TALK to you if there's a problem. All he had to say was, "Excuse me. I notice your cat has been leaving paw prints all over my car. Can you please keep your cat indoors and/or away from my car? Thanks." But, of course, he instead chooses to be a prick and cause the animal (who doesn't know any better) deliberate discomfort. Man, I hate people like that. I mean, he has a right to want a car that's free of paw-prints but he handled it all wrong so, yeah, I'd say you have a right to be mad.
Anyhow, just keep your cat indoors. They cat will be safer and happier. The idiotic neighbor will be happier. End result: You will be happier.

I'd throw water in the neighbors face but that would probably start a fight so don't do that. If i were you I'd confront the neighbor and ask them not to do it again. And the cats probably only doing that because the cat wants to get warm so it lays on top of the car because the engine makes the hood warm.

I do not blame the guy for being uPSet
after all the cat jumping on his car can ruin the finish
and although it was mean it was really harmless
and the cat may stop doing it as a consequence
if you really are concerned about your cat's quality of life
the only effective thing you can do to protect him/her is to keep him./her indoors I know this may not be what you want to hear
but as a cat owner and fellow human
it is my honest opinion
ps--pet owners me included need to take more responsibility for the behavior of their animals outside the home. One cannot expect neighbors to tolerate undisciplined or destructive animal behavior. If it were a child and your child did something to your neighbors property, legally you would be liable. And I believe that this rule not only applies morally but legally to animals as well

Sure you have the right to be annoyed but unless you can train your outdoor cat to stay off cars there isn't much you can do.Don't resort to retaliation against your neighbors that can get real nasty real fast.
Why is this an outdoor cat? Is there any way you can bring the cat indoors? If you can bring the cat in maybe you can train it to stay indoors and you won't have to worry about stuff like that happening anymore.

Um....did the water hurt your cat? Doubt it. I like cats, but I'd be annoyed if someone's feline was prancing all over my car.

If you're going to allow your cat to roam free, you're going to have to deal with this kind of stuff. Honestly, you and your cat got off easy. Just wait until the cat comes in contact with someone a bit more violent or messed in the head.

So water? Get over it.

The cat won't melt. Be happy it was just water and take it a a HUGE hint that not everyone in the world is a cat lover and only let your cat out when you are there to watch it. Outdoor cats that live in a city do not live long...

would you be mad if someones dog (I know you said cat, I'm making a point) was on your car? Haven't you ever been ticked off when you just washed your car and the next morning you had paw prints all over it? You should be glad that they only threw water on your cat. I've known people to shoot cats for damaging personal property in cases like this.

So you want someone to show you respect... but you didnt show any to him.

Think yourself lucky the guy didn't come over and charge you for fixing his paint job. Nothing worse than seeing scratch marks over your cars paint work because of a cat that likes to sit on it.

You know you shouldn't let your so called PET.
Roam around outside .. It could get run over, or worse cause a more serious accident with cars swerving to miss it.
And heaven forbid, that a car hits a lamp post or someone walking down the pathway.
All innocent people doing there own thing.. .
Will you compain them that someone scared your cat.. Hmm.

What about all the wild life it can kill .. little birds and lizards.
To me your not a very responsible Pet Owner.
Lucky .. it was only the cat that got wet.

thank god it was just water!! some people do allot worse thing to cats!! don't get me wrong, i am a cat lover, but you need to be careful! he can sue you for damage to the car if the cat scratches it! they tend to do this jumping up and down!! if i was you, take the cat inside or take it to a family members house who likes cats!! next time the cat may not be so lucky, unless you have solid proof, nothing can be done!! don't want you cat to be killed over something preventable!!

First of all, cats should not be outside because all they do outside is multiply and kill small animals and fight with other cats putting people in danger who try to intervene to help them. Anyway, you can't do anything. I'd be mad too if someones cat had their claws all over my car.
